That's been my experience too. I'm trying to eat less meat and find alternatives that work for me, but it apparently has to be all or fuck you for some. I know it's not everyone, but somehow they seem the loudest and it's not very helpful.

I've tried a few times, and I like the concept, but it was just too slow to run and there didn't seem to be enough on it to make it useful yet.

Are you looking for a one off? Or to start microblogging in general? If the latter, I recommend creating an account on Mastodon or one of the *keys as you'll have a much better time than using the built in bit here. While federation is great and I do cross-follow, I still have accounts here, on Sharkey, Pixelfed, etc.

If you're looking for a one off, others have answered that above.

How did you start with that? I've contributed some via Street Complete, but I've never figured out how to contribute directly to OSM.

If you haven't already, take a look at Bazzite for your desktop. I've actually replaced SteamOS with it.

I'm also on Bluefin for my daily driver and Bazzite for my Steam Deck. I love it because the important part is set and forget it, and the part I tinker with is separate from the part that keeps things running. And if an update borks something, you can just revert to the image you came from.

I just hope that doesn't screw over the rest of us. Like the rest of the world developing a vaccine and we think vaccines are bad so we don't get one and grandma needs to die for the economy kind of stupid.

Not a full answer to your question, but I have a reolink doorbell cam and it works well and integrates easily into my home assistant setup. I hooked it up to my existing doorbell wires, though it does have the option for POE. I don't care about long term storage of the feed, so I just have a 256gb SD card in it which is overkill for my use. I've had it since Julyish and I'm only a bit over halfway full.

I used to be in the "I prefer Linux but don't have the time and energy to fight it when it doesn't work" camp and would distro hop and occasionally go back to windows since the early aughts. I've been with Bluefin for a while now and it just works and I love the set it and forget it aspect. Also installed Bazzite on my Steam Deck.

I lost an aunt I had gotten on well with to fascism and ignorance over Thanksgiving. I'm down to a brother and two first cousins once removed. Haven't spoken to my parents in a few years now.

We all have to draw lines in the sand and I've drawn mine. I don't care how much blood we share, I will not tolerate intolerance.

Don't forget it's not just a capitalistic money grab, but that an uneducated electorate is easier to control.
