sadly the "info in 3 seconds" problem is only getting worse as more and more people move on from tv news to the only thing that's worse, getting their news from short form video on platforms like Facebook and tiktok.

yeah, this site just isn't active enough for many of the communities that i miss. like sure, there's an anime community that will have some discussion on the like... top 5 shows of the season. but where else can I go to talk any like... Kingdom or Dead dead demons or any of the shows that i love but aren't super main stream. and even on the big shows, there's going to be like at most 10 top level comments and only two with any meaningful replies.

if this weren't far right dumbasses i might think they were referring to the hyper patriarchal society and 50 years behind gender views that are common in that country, but i don't think they actually know anything about India. if they did, they'd probably be all about the arranged marriages and legal martial rape.

oh i don't think Amazon leaves anything out of their control anymore. if that label is for the most picked for a term the it's because they manipulated the search. but I'm thinking it's just a sticker that they put on things they want to sell and also manipulate the search results.

i wouldn't say a lot. you'd be amazed how massive the private security industry is. it's mostly shit jobs that pay pile 15/hr for you to watch cameras and occasionally scan little wall dots to prove you walked down a hall.

my old roommate did this kind of security for a different building in Milwaukee. none of his coworkers were cops, nor were they trained in any meaningful way.

one common environmental factor is being bitchless, also known as a sausage fest. this can cause a large percentage of a snake population to transition to fill the gap.

celebrities get portraits done, civil rights leaders have pictures taken of them by journalists as they do important things. most civil rights leaders didn't get many professional portraits done, the textbooks use the pictures of them actually doing things. tough you may have a point that it would be good to include a color picture or two of them if they're out there.

i think the only way Linux is increasing it's market share beyond fringe enthusiasts (that's us) is by more devices coming with it pre-installed. expecting anyone outside of the tech space to change the operating system their device came with is a pipe dream

the world is hard and kids need to be taught about us in a controlled environment like a school.

don't replace it if it still works. that would completely defeat the intent of being environmentally friendly. getting rid of it entirely just makes it someone else's problem. it will still exist somewhere and still be breaking down.

i still remembe needing to wait literal hours at the gate every damn time. we were never even close to late. they were always panicking. i don't understand it...

it's not just parents either. some people are just like that when they travel. I've tried going places with friends that made it absolutely miserable as an adult because they were fucking panicking the whole time until we sat on the plane. i swear some people have never dealt with a deadline before or something. don't know how to deal with a clock ticking down i guess.
