Who cares. When you're right, your right. I am sure many "far right people" are against stealing from your grandma. Agreeing to this common sense moral is bad?

I only use FOSS apps. I am sure someday it will be added into Lemmy itself.

Not yet, someone requested this feature and I would like it to to block the NSFW porn instances. I do have NSFW enabled but I still see pictures of SFW girls in my feed from NSFW instances and I would like to just block that stuff from those adult only instances.

I not for lemmy.world blocking or deferating instances in general. But this feature gives the user the choice to block instances while others can allow content from instsnces to flow into their feed if they wish.

By going outside and interacting in the world will always have the risk of danger, injury, illness and death. The modern world is the most safest envoriment that have ever existed.

If restrictions do return, it will only cause more division and more protests. The trucker convoy that started in Canada was a response to the government overreach in Canada and across the west since politicians and the media were treating the population at large like children.

We are adults (And I assume you are also an adult), and therefore we can make our own decisions. You can wear a mask. Your kids if you got any can wear a mask. You can refuse to spend time with others who do not wear masks, you can refuse to work at a job that makes masking optional, you can refuse to shop at places that refuse to enforce a mask policy.

This behavior must be stopped at all costs, and I do not care what you think of it.

Alright, but many people do not care what you think and will disregard your strict stance on the matter. Not because they are "murderers" which is quite a claim to make, but because everyone has their own threat level. My advice is, include the fact many other people do not care about your threat model and not force your threat model onto every one else. The world does not revolve around anybody.

How authoritative. Personal responsibility is the answer. Not forcing others to your level. If your threat level is that high, ok that is your choice. However everyones threat level to this thing should take into account that not everyone in your community will be on the same page as you.

Unless you want another trucker convoy emerging, I suggest not forcing any mandates. Enforce any mandate on yourself, but only yourself.

I think Joplin is the best too, but I wish they will rewrite their app using Tauri or flutter for better performance and native app integration. Feature wise it is the best one that is FOSS.

Gas prices will not fall until the oil sector in Canada has the freedom to operate and expand without the government trying to destroy the industry.

Patrick Moore has degrees and is well educated on the subject. Patrick Moore been to the arctic and to these places that claim to be suffering from climate change.

Alex Epstein is well educated on this climate stuff. He did not go to school for it but higher education is not required to understand this climate change stuff. Anyone can be self taught these days on many subjects and fields.

Just read the books when you get a chance, until them I not interested in this one-sided debate were everything needs to be from an "official" source. I been down this road before where I read peoples sources and shared mine and I am always wrong because you got to trust the science and if some questions it like me, I become labelled as a heretic to the climate change movement.

I get it though, you been told this stuff your whole life and how to always trust "official" sources. That is how many of us were raised. It is not your fault but man, the truth will set you free. I used to be worried that by the time I become adult or be in my middle years, I would inherit a earth that is uninhabitable. The amount of anxiety and depression this puts on one person is awful. However the world will be around just like it is today for a very long time. I can promise you that.

So just so we’re clear; if there’s published scientific data around it: it’s a conspiracy of scientific censorship because of the “climate narrative”, but if it’s unproven opinion narrative that works for the oil companies profits that happen to be huge public policy lobbying forces; it’s definitely the truth. Remember how hard it was to capture a lightning bolt in Back to the Future movie? The only reason they succeeded was because they knew when and where lightning will strike in a week and they timed it out perfectly.

Unless you can control the weather which if it was possible, would likely take lots of energy ans is the only way to make a "lightning power plant" to my understanding.

Alright. Do note that there is lots of censorship around this topic. Many scientists have had their careers ruined or been censored when publishing work that goes against the climate narritive. Not many know this.

A few times in the past I have shared internet sources but was accussed of sharing unoffical sources, or unreliable sources, etc. Kinda like being accusee of sharing fake news since it did not come from a pro green NGO or government.

I do believe the points I made earlier came from either Patrick Moore or Alex Epstein.

Alrighty then, nice talking to you to? Books are a very reliabe source and their books have lots of scientific facts. Check them out sometime, espeically Patrick Moore's literature.

I do not have a souce that I can just copy and paste. However if I recall my source on this come from Patrick Moore who was a founder of Greenpeace or Alex Epstein. They both publish some great books on the subject of climate change.

The wildfires are started by people, not the climate. Some of the arsonists were caught and fined. Why did they start the fire if it was intentional is up for speculation. However some of these fires were accidential.

Trends? Depends how they are displayed? Lot of climate change groups show charts going back to 1970 or so. Rarely they show anything before then. Be careful when you see a statistic, chart or alarmist message being shared since it is always protrayed to make the situation appear to be out of control and in crisis.
