For some twitter users use the blocking feature to live in a echo chamber. For some it is to block spam. For some it is to block rude people.

The con of no blocking feature is not able to block spam.

FOSS stands for "free open source software. Open source means the code for the software publically available for anyone to see. A fork is when someone take a project like firefox and clones it (copying the source code), make any chsnges they want (such as removing the in-browser block list) and re-releasing the app.

So? I do not use the crypto features in Brave browser or thr BAT rewards. You can easily opt out.

Brave is a good option. Vivaldi is closed source, so if your all about FOSS, then Vivaldi is not an option.

Sadly this is a good oppertunity to spread alternative platforms like Lemmy and Nostr for Canadians to get good news in a crisis.

Either the forests are not being managed well or someone is starting these fires. If it is arson, it is some environmental terrorist likely trying to prove a point by destroying forests and communities.

I like this since it forces people who do not like having their world view shaken up to have their world view shaken up. This will either limit echo chambers on the platform or cause people to leave Twitter. Most likely cause people to leave Twitter which I am all for since it is a big tech spyware platform filled with toxic people.

I did learn lots in the past few years about human nature.

There is no need for a public health strategy. This idea that we all must bubble wrap the world is insane. Germs and viruses will always exist. Do what is best for you stop getting mad at others who have different threat models than you.

I wish everyone used Linux, but I know that will never happen. I use Linux and will help anyone that wants to use linux and thats were it ends. I move on and am happy being a Linux user. I do not expect the government to force the population to use Linux to make a more digitial secure and private society, that will be insane and will piss off most of the population. Mandates are no different.

You make a fair point, however when you work for someone, that is your choice. To shop at a business is your choice. If you do not like a business, do not work for it and do not shop there.

Stealing from someone is stealing from a person who took time to produce that item. In the case of s store, the store had to buy the product from a distributor.

So theft is still inmoral. Is theft greed? Yeah it could be and in most cases its greed and selfishness. However the thief in most cases can buy the item but chooses not to.

When homo sapians were nomadic, we were quite a tribal social group. The alpha male always had more resources in the group which you can call greed. This was a thing before civilization. And lets be honest, if we had more, would we really share it? Most people want more but when we get more, we do not divide it with others in our community. Very few give up their time and money for charity.

Not me or anyone I know thinks that when seeing someone with a mask on. Nobody wore a mask when they were sick before 2020. And when I have the sniffles, I never wear a mask. If I am really sick, I will just stay home. Just like how it was done before 2020.

It is spendable fractional gold. 1oz of gold is thousands of dollars right now. This breaks gold down for smaller transactions.

I am sure there are other options out there than just those two.

Even if that is the case, quit working for someone and start your own business.
