  • I can’t smell it either at this point. I don’t smoke inside though.

    I’ll never forget this one.

My ex and I were both chain smokers. I didn’t want to smoke inside but she was convinced a fan in the window was enough. I never smelled it before, but her mom bitched every time she came over.

When we split, I went back trying to work it out multiple times and I couldn’t stand the smell of her clean clothes even. It was awful. Even as a smoker I couldn’t stand the smell of that place. I remember falling asleep with her on the couch and just gagging.

I would NEVER smoke inside after smelling that. I also keep a cat litter container outside for butts and a Gatorade bottle with a little water in my car.

I threw cigarette butts everywhere when I was younger, then one day I seen a program about the butts ending up in waterways and I haven’t tossed one since.

  • They just make eggs different at Costco. :p

I promise that Costco assembles theirs from only the highest quality chicken parts. Leg eggs being their best and most expensive. You’re buying wing eggs, which are known to be cost savers so poor folks can eat too.

Welcome to Costco. I love you!

  • I know this probably won’t get seen much now, but man that game has a special place in my heart.

Starting with the original Zelda game, my mother and I always beat them together.

We were very poor, but she always did what she had to do to get us the latest Nintendo console. She worked as a dog groomer leading up to the release of the Nintendo 64. She would be gone for 12 hours at a time, working for below minimum wage (under the table) just to get us that console.

She got Ocarina of Time for my brother and I for Christmas. She was just as excited to play it as we were, but there was no way my dad was going to let us open a Christmas present early. We only got one big present to share, and two small presents. Sometimes if my dad had saved a decent amount, we’d get the large present (usually a game), and then we’d get something that we really wanted that we didn’t have to share.

I begged my mom, she begged my dad. He wouldn’t budge. In the weeks leading up to Christmas though, she broke. She came to me with her plan. We were going to open it every day when he went to work and play it until an hour before he got home.

By the time Christmas rolled around, we were in the forest temple. He didn’t play games so he didn’t have a clue.

It was so much fun sneaking that game out with my mom and my brother. It was so much fun. Seeing how big it was for the time, we literally couldn’t believe our eyes.

Is OoT my favorite game of all time? Not anymore. It is my favorite memory of a game though, and by a long shot.

    Edit, for fun.

It meant so much to me that the only boxes I still have from my childhood are my Zelda and N64 boxes.

  • I liked them, but it felt like going to the same place over and over again once you were in there. (Which is why I’ve never finished Phantom Hourglass).

I absolutely loved the world around them though, and the lore of the characters.

I haven’t played Tears of the Kingdom.

I’m currently playing Wind Waker again.

  • My dad used to make me and my brother fight all the time when we were kids. It was like a family sporting event. All of the men gathered around and shouted, “git eeem buddy, don’t let eem gitchya! That’s riiite, yeah! Git eem in the belly!”

It usually ended with one of us crying and the men saying, “awwwww, calm down sis. It’s just a bloody nose.”

Reminds me of one of my favorite things I ever heard my dad say.

He said something that upset my brother when I was winning the fight, so my brother charged him. He put his hand on my brother’s head and held him back while he swung with all of his might.

My dad laughed and said. “HUHT HUHT! Look at eem, he’s like a little banty rooster! He’s flogging with all his little might! (bantam rooster, dad pronounced it “bay-nee)

It riled my brother up for days. I called him banty for years. Hahaha

For fun, this is a bantam rooster trying to fight a normal sized rooster.

  • Dude you are everywhere on Lemmy. Legit the only name I ever recognize.

Thank you for bringing so much entertainment to my life.

It’s crazy. Almost any time I see a post I like, there’s your name.
