Wikipedia focuses on those other issues as well, they just happen to be a group of volunteers trying to manage the most comprehensive repository of information that the world has ever seen. If you see issues with articles, you are always welcome to sign up and edit the articles yourself!

Wikipedia does such a solid, unmitigated GOOD service for the world, especially the English speaking world.

I hate how likely this is. I can't imagine any scenario where the Trump DOJ does something like this unselfishly, and Google has already kowtowed to the Trump admin. There must be a specific Trump ally they have in mind that would buy that from Google, Musk is just the most likely.

i would feel okay about it if the energy cost of AI wasn't so astronomical. It would be a fun quirk to play an open-world game full of characters that can sort of hold a conversation with you like this. But if we have to boil oceans to do it (and we still do as of this writing), then it just seems beyond frivolous. I love video games, but nothing in a video game is important enough to justify that energy cost.

I think maybe you've figured this out already, but that really is more about the other person than it is about you. I guess we really can't say without knowing all the details, but I can't imagine anything you would have said that would justify that response. You need friends that go to therapy. lol

Pi Holes are awesome! Blocking ads at the router level is a great idea. However, I have heard they can be a bit finicky, so not the best solution for all.

hell yeah the rumors is true. Well it LOOKS solid, but i don't know how much actual info there was to glean out of that video. This is coming from a different studio than the people that brought you THPS 1+2, so it remains to be seen if Iron Galaxy can pull off the same kind of loving remake that Vicarious Visions gave us in 1+2. I think Iron Galaxy was responsible for the Killer Instinct reboot, so we know they have some cred on bringing old games back to life.

IMO drunk drivers that haven't injured anyone don't need much punishment beyond having their license suspended, and maybe a wealth-proportional fine. Drunk drivers that have injured or killed someone certainly deserve harsher punishment, but having your entire career ruined over one no-collateral DD incident seems like overkill.

to me, the more principled stance would be to stay and resist until they are forced to fire you, which makes them look bad. I would have no qualms about telling my kids I made the right choice in that scenario. But others have pointed out that doing this might lead to a career civil servant losing their retirement benefits, and I can understand that that is a lot to throw away for resistance actions that will ultimately change very little.

i don't really agree that "one could say the same" because these are totally different situations. A voter is not a civil servant. A voter does not get paid to vote. Most voters did not swear an oath to defend the constitution (unless they are a naturalized citizen). A single voter also has no power to block an insurgent force from taking over key government systems, unlike a civil servant.

why are these people leaving? they should force the government to fire them and make a big stink about it.
