We know what will happen: Trump will get elected. He will also definitely not do the thing you want. Now you have a president who will further embolden Israel to do as it pleases.

Also, HDMI Forum is a cartel that charges ridiculous licensing fees for their proprietary interface. VESA is a standards body and their licensing costs are much more reasonable.
