  • Do we know how much they made with this loot box system in Austria? I can see just one Austrian whale paying more than the ordered €10,800 on loot boxes. I don't see EA stopping if they're still making a profit on these in the big picture, if they're only losing some legal battles and being ordered to pay less than they made.

  • So I work in game audio. I have a masters in music composition, and beginner knowledge of coding just to add a few lines of audio-related code to my client's spaghetti code.

What you're asking for is not a simple task, and will certainly need AI or machine learning or something along those lines. You could more easily make something like this if its just a single melody with no other backing tracks (and there's plenty of software that does this), but to understand and distinguish separate instruments, including drums, hear them all as separate voices, and turn them into a whole other medium, is on a whole other stratosphere. If someone's going to make something like this, it's going to be made by a corporation and sold as a $1000 plugin.

But hey, at least it will most certainly be in C++, because that's the language of choice for most audio plugins.

  • God I wish he promoted socialist policies. But he certainly does not. I do not agree with the statement that "the biggest capitalists in the world are actually socialists".

People on the left are generally anti big tech, anti-google, anti-microsoft, anti-NSA. Anti-government is also not inherently right wing, especially if you look at anarchists instead of tankies. But adding restrictions onto giant corporations (that effectively become more powerful than the government) is more of a leftist opinion.

  • He's a capitalist and one of the richest people in the world. Nothing about him fits the bill of a leftist. I think you're coming at this with the US's perception of the left, like the democratic party, which wouldn't be considered left almost anywhere else in the world.

Linus Torvalds is a bit more of a leftist, and the whole ideology of Linux is pretty fitting for the left.

  • That's fair. I just have hundreds of thousands of crafting items so the craft bag is a big one for me. I also actually go through every single DLC. I'm almost done getting every single trifecta in the game (arenas, dungeons, and trials).

I could probably make do with how you go about it, but since this is basically the only form of entertainment I pay for, I feel like it's justified. My lifestyle is otherwise incredibly frugal.

  • I'm about 4600 hours into ESO, but I've been paying for the subscription for half of that time. I only raid. Very challenging at the high levels, which I really enjoy.

I just hop on for my scheduled raids and log off. I don't do any kind of grinding.

  • Just wanted to pitch in my experience and say my volume up/down keys on my keyboard worked out of the box, so it's not a universal issue, and still worth giving OpenSUSE a try.

I do use NVidia with OpenSUSE, but I don't use Optimus, so I can't be of much help.

  • Yes, it has plenty. In the base game alone you have:

    • Main story line (with Molag Bal being the main antagonist)
    • A story line for each of the three alliances (you can even play through the other alliances' storylines even if youre not part of them)
    • Guild storylines like Mages Guild and Fighters Guild
    • A separate storyline based in the zone of Craglorn (south eastern Hammerfell)
    • Plenty of side quests everywhere

And then with DLC/expansions, the amount and quality of storylines grows by a lot.

But I don't even play for the stories. The raiding is very fun and challenging. I don't play the game like a time sink. I just log in for my scheduled raids and log out, and I play at a pretty high level. It's one of the less grindy MMOs. They've reduced RNG related stuff by a lot over the years.

I'm always happy to help out anyone on PC NA

  • Thanks, I see it now. The left-leaning sources are what I would consider more centre. Neo-liberal and left are quite different. Seems like it's taking an approach closer to mainstream American politics, where Democrats are called left, but the rest of the world wouldn't.

  • You should probably actually say which 6 sources you're using. If we just have to take your word for the fact that it's 2 left, right, and centre sources, I'm going to assume that we have different opinions on what those words mean, and that it is indeed skewed to one side or another.

  • If you absolutely must use MS Office, and don't want to use any of the alternatives like LibreOffice that use the exact same file types, why not just run MS Office with Bottles? If that's the only reason for a dual boot, you probably don't need to dual boot.
