  • Same. It takes sort of a bold leap of faith.

We waited a while but realized that if we had been a little less risk averse, we could've started earlier and been totally fine.

  • I've been having decent luck adding topics that I like (e.g. Star Trek), but I guess what I'm most curious to find are types of feeds that translate well to RSS. Like, weather alerts, podcasts, webcomics, etc.

  • Ah, very nice! I've heard you can follow any Mastodon account via RSS too, but I haven't tried that out yet. I'm glad to see RSS is alive and well in the fediverse.

  • The tags for specific feeds seem to be really important for news sites. I tried adding one without it, and it completely overwhelmed my feed with a billion posts per day. I removed it in less than 24 hrs, lol

  • Oh, very cool idea! I'm adding the star trek tag now to try it out and may expand from there if I like it. Thanks!

  • Yeah, that's the guy who measures his nighttime erections and has MRIs done every other week, to name a couple of his fixations. It's a weird way to live, but I have to admit that I'm curious to hear what he's up to every so often.

  • Oh, I have just the page to test this out on now. Thank you!

  • This is promising! Thanks.

I'm using Feeder too. I haven't tried any others, but I remember someone on lemmy recommended it once before, and it seems perfectly good to me.

  • Wow, I should have scrolled back some for these. Thanks.

  • This sounds like a magical place.

  • I don't believe he's commenting on whether morality is actually absolute or relative, but rather pointing out the irony that those who strongly believe it's subjective are appalled by the seemingly logical consequence that individuals reach different conclusions and disagree.

  • That it conflicts. He's saying that if you believe that morality is relative and every person/culture has the difficult task of defining their own, it's ironic to be so aghast when people have reached different conclusions than you.

  • This has been my experience too. And then once one side does something in response to what was covered in their bubble, the opposite side has no idea why and is completely befuddled by their behavior.

  • I'm sure both are true for some people, but I think the irony he's pointing out is that this belief system recognizes that every individual/culture has different morals, while simultaneously treating individual/cultural differences as reprehensible.

  • I delayed it for maybe 10 years after they first started asking if I wanted to get them removed, then finally decided it was time about a year or two ago. The recovery sucked for a couple of days, but I don't remember my bill being exceptionally bad (I think my insurance paid quite a bit though).

  • It's really amazing. The only (not really) downside is that certain episodes make me tear up.
