As a mod, what are the rules in regards to leftist/socialist communities and posts?

My mom was in the hospital over Thanksgiving, and I cannot fathom the devastation I would have felt if I had come home from all the stress and difficulty there and discovered my beloved little buddy was gone; to say my heart breaks for you sounds hyperbolic, but I've got tears in my eyes typing this. I am so sorry.

This is genius! I'm so excited to tell my friends, thank you so much for this tip!
I don't dispute for a second that Elon's an idiot, but his ex-wife did ask him to buy and kill Twitter:
"Can you buy Twitter and then delete it, please!? xx" Riley allegedly texted Musk on March 24. "America is going INSANE."
Maybe it's not 3D chess but just transparent - yet effective! - stupidity. Buying Twitter was fiscally foolish, but it does seem like he's gonna kill it, so 🤷

I suspect you might be joking and I just didn't get it, but just in case - do your ducks actually respond to verbal cues??
I have friends with ducks, and another friend who tried to have ducks this spring and lost them all to predation, and I know they would all love to be able to get their ducks to get to bed on time.
This is a perfect rant in that it is so specific it loops back around to universality. I have no experience with any of the programs you mentioned - I'm only in the comments because I thought my husband, who uses SolidWorks sometimes in his day job, might find this thread entertaining - and yet I totally related to everything in your comment. I have felt all those same frustrations, just with different software; stuff that was perfectly fine getting "improved" to the point of uselessness for my situation.
You're a great writer! It takes skill to rant so well about niche stuff that anybody can relate.
According to this informative video about the "super El Niño" we're heading into, next year is going to be worse. Less easily dismissed, not that it'll help. If we get any kind of extreme weather this winter before next year's even hotter summer, that'll be fodder for them, too. As we all know, anytime it snows, that proves climate change is a myth. 🙄
The fail whale!! 😍 What a cute and fun way that was to get an error! I had forgotten all about that but knew this image reminded me of something.
OP, this is awesome! The color and texture of the balloons, the expressive pose - it all adds up to something really special. Great work!!

I'm yet another Reddit refugee - you might recognize my username from frequent comments in /r/athensohio, or less frequently /r/Ohio and /r/Columbus - and I made accounts at Beehaw, lemmy.world, and sh.itjust.works before discovering this instance. A whole instance of leftists in the Midwest?!?!!! 🎉 Very excited to have found you all.
My husband (42m) and I (41f) have been together just shy of 20 years and do small engine and outdoor equipment repair from our home garage; he turns the wrenches, I do the admin stuff, and we make small engine repair and enthusiast videos to encourage people to repair, not replace, which is something we're really passionate about.
We have a 16yo trans son, son and I are both bi, and we keep our pride flag up all year long because we've had repair customers mention that it helped them know we were a safe place to bring their equipment. 😕
We've got dogs and cats and live on a few acres outside Athens. Just 2 weeks ago, we received our newly-hatched chickens and guineas, so we're scrambling to get the coop and run done. I'm working on figuring out how to share the feed for the security camera I set up near their enclosure, so let me know if you'd like a link for the Poultry News Network when it goes live. 😂
I almost commented this reply from my lemmy.world account, but I decided to switch to be commenting from my midwest.social account - an explicitly leftist server - to back up my assertion that I've not seen any indication that lemmy.world is anti-left with demonstration of the federation between the servers. Idk why the defederation happened, but I'm skeptical of the idea that it was simply the fact of their leftism.
