  • How is this different from all the other "GENOCIDE" happening on TV elsewhere? Who gives a fuck about the Houthi's and the western weapons Saudia Arabia fails to effectivly deploy againd them. There is a certain obession with this particular conflict that just doesn't seem rational.

  • What do you find disrespectful? Speaking up about genocide?

I have no issue with that. I'm actually a German national and we really learn about what genocide is. And this ain't it. Israel has had absolut military dominace for decades, and yet not all palestinans are dead yet. If this is genocide, they haven't learnd a fucking thing about how you do this shit. There are literally more Palastines now than at any time before. What kind of shitty genocide is that?

  • if you think I’m that clever

Oh no, I didn't. I though you might have watched the relevant special and made a reference.

And you should definitly watch South Park. Matt and Trey are geniuses. Trey was oscar niminated for "blame Canada". They took LSD while wearing dresses when going to the oscar event. They are absolute legends. I'm really not into celebrities, but these guys are just amazing and there is a reason South Park has been on for 26 years.

  • I think it’s more of a long discussion what he means, the link I attached does a good job interpreting it biblically too.

I've briefly read into this, but it was too much religious stuff for me. I read two articles about Leonard Cohan touring with IDF troops through combat zones. That was about 3-4 years before he wrote this peom. I don't know if he had a change of heart or what his feelings about the conflict would be today. But from reading about him, he seems to be very pro Israel.

But poem interpration was always something I was exceptionally bad at.

I also don't think your comment deserves to be downvoted. Even though I disagree with it and find your last edit quite disrespectful.

And that was just going through top google results. Not all of them might still work, some of them now only work properly if you self-host with your own API key. I also found some apps on my phone that had recent reviews that said they still worked.

As I said, I'm not using reddit anymore I don't really want to get into it that much. But it's obvious they are still around (and of course ... some people still love reddit and know how to code ...).

If you genuinly want to find the best still working 3rd party reddit client, I'm not in a position to tell you which one it is. My entire point is that there is some "3rd party client" you can choose. Even if it's shitty compared to lemmy.

  • I'm personally not using any reddit related apps anymore and only vaguely followed the whole API debacle. It's becoming shitty which is the reason I quit it.

But saying 3rd party apps or frontends don't exist for reddit is ridiculous. They do, it doesn't matter if they suck now or cost money. I was just pointing out an error, not trying to argue for or against lemmy/reddit. But apperently some people really took offence with that.

  • then the police action was consequentially more of a factor.

This is very much my point.

I thought suggesting that George Floyd died due to covid was ridiculous enough of a statement for not having to add an /s. The joke is that it's something absurd that police might say as a defense ...

  • I don't think this is saying what you think it does.

He regularly played in Israel, giving concerts for soldiers and even volunteered in the Yom Kippur war.

Israel, and you who call yourself Israel, the Church that calls itself Israel, and the revolt that calls itself Israel, and every nation chosen to be a nation – none of these lands is yours, all of you are thieves of holiness, all of you at war with Mercy. Who will say it? Will America say, We have stolen it, or France step down?

This is bascially calling out the double standard that Israel faces, because in the end pretty much ANY nation has "stolen" their land from someone else at some point.
