  • There have been numerous ddos attacks etc on the site recently. Rudd, the operator has been very forthcoming with information.

  • You absolutely can follow hashtags on the official app. Tap a hashtag on a post, or search for one and there is a follow button.

  • Hmm your device seems to have better specs than mine. Best to just be patient and wait for the next update. The awesome devs seem to be refactoring a lot of code right now. I’m sure this issue will resolve itself in future updates.

  • What device are you on? Are you using the latest beta or the AppStore version?

I had similar problems on my iPhone 8, but the latest beta has fixed it mostly.

It’s probably due to memory management and iOS automatically cleaning up.

  • Thanks for the update! Please don’t see the following as a complaint, but constructive feedback. There is no rush to do anything.

Does the instance filtering apply per account or globally?

I noticed that posts are still not being marked as read when viewing the picture directly from the feed, even when set to do so.

Also, having push notification problems still: now I’m unable to enable them as the progress circle just continues to spin endlessly.

Also, on iPhone 8, the tab bar at the bottom is still too high.

    like this

  • You can control the settings. Settings ➡️ content ➡️ hide read posts

  • It’s not for marking read. It for hiding posts which have been marked as read from the feed without having to refresh the feed, and thus loose your place.

  • I love tech and if I could I would buy a new phone every year. But that’s not realistic for me. So I always buy the highest capacity phone I can and take good care of it. If needed, I replace the battery. And I use it until the apps I want are no longer supported, or it cannot run the latest iOS.

I’ve had a 4S, 6, and now an 8. Will be looking to upgrade this year or next I guess since it’s been six years or more!

Have an iPad Air 2 that is still going strong. Kids use it for gaming and so on.

It’s great that you’re not only focussing on the latest models. I’m sure you will be able to expand the user base because of that.

  • Good to hear about improving performance. Already today the app has crashed back to the springboard about 10 times just while browsing.

Seems to most often happen when loading the safari viewer to read an article.

I’m on an iPhone 8. I can send logs if needed.

  • Totally agree. I’ve been doing the same. It’s great that the beta testers are actively giving feedback. Keep it up!

  • Yeah the size seems off like you said. Also there seem to be a mosh mash of icons through the app. I’m sure it’ll get cleaned up. There are many people contributing so it’s bound to happen.

  • Just had the opposite, light to dark (system is light)

  • I had push enabled before the hack, no 2fa.

After hack, enabled 2fa and then no push notifications. So could be the hack or could be 2fa related.

I did change my password so that should have reset the token I thought. (Of course I re enabled afterwards)

  • Yeah. They show as enabled in the app as well as in the iOS settings, but never get any push notifications or badges on the app icon.

I understand the time issue. I didn’t mean to pressure or rush you. It is not so important.

They did work on world before the hacking event. So maybe they changed something. Also, I have 2fa enabled now which I didn’t before. Could that be a contributing factor?

  • Oh yeah we exist lol. SE3 would be the same too I guess.

While I have you, any news on notifications? They still don’t seem to work.

Thanks for replying and thanks for being such a cool developer!

  • Great update. Love that the subscriptions seem to be cached or preloaded.

One thing I noticed is there is extra space below the bottom bar (at least on my iPhone 8).

  • Thanks for the great work and replying to my previous comment. Unfortunately I still am not getting notifications for my world account. Is this a widespread issue? It’s not a big issue to be honest anyway. Thank you so much.

  • Yes, I thought I was the only one!

Also, if you tap the same button etc because you are impatient, the same menus then pops up like three times.
