  • They're taking away his right to free dreams.

  • The police force shouldn't be summarily executing people like this, you're right about that.

But this post conveys a very strange and counter-productive understanding of what fascism is and what makes someone a fascist. Might as well be saying 'if you think drinking water shouldn't be privatised you are just a stalinist'. If we want to stop fascism, we have to understand what it is, and that isn't it. If anything, a fascist furiously opposes governments murdering "right-wingers"... for pretty obvious reasons.

  • does it

Well, my transaction went through, so yes.

I agree that it is wasteful and overall a bad thing... now that I think about it could be somewhat excusable if they adopted a PoW algrothim that actually solves socially-useful expensive problems like protein-folding, through distributed computing.

But that doesn't make it a scam. There's not really any trickery. It's just bad.

  • I disagree that cryptocurrency in itself is a scam. It can have legitimate utility, for example I want to exchange money for international services without a credit card or mailing an envelope of cash/cheque. Bitcoin and some others are mainstream enough that I can do this.

That said, investing in them is absolutely a scam, using it as a marketing buzzhype is a scam, and most of them are founded as scams.

  • Landlords aren't a scam, they're anti-society economic hoarders and gougers. Scam suggests there's something voluntary about 'falling for' it. Human trafficking isn't a scam, and so nor are landlords.

  • It's a source. It's certainly not the 'one true source of all'. Quite a lot is just plain old unqualified nationalism and xenophobia too.

  • To add to WhatWouldKarlDo's posts, which provided credible counter-evidence (A CBS reporter on location, and a Latin American diplomat's leaked eyewitness account), I want to further emphasise that using a search engine to assess credibility and provide ethos isn't a strong argument. If I search your username, and if you search mine, neither of us will show up as a real person and both our histories will show we reply to political topics. Should we therefore conclude we're both just writing propaganda, and further assume that makes it false?

We're writing opinions or analyses, and hopefully, substantiating them with evidence. And surely the book is doing the same.

  • Let's supposed it was done: (I don't know if anyone did or didn't)

Who would have broadcasted or platformed it?

  • The bottom line is, the victim having autism and being young is irrelevant in the sense that no-one should be treated like that for such a trivial insult.

It's obviously still relevant, the victim is particularly vulnerable, making the abuse so much more obviously callous and disgusting. But I say if this happened to Joe Citizen, it would also be horrific.

  • Why should Niger give a shit about some US official.

  • How is anyone supposed to have an unbiased opinion?

What features of Manjaro would make it something you prefer? A different DE? Mint offers more than just one.

  • I wouldn't apologise for anything less than JPEG-XL. And even then, I know I'm right to help normalise it.

As if that person will apologise for trying to make me sign up to facebook or some other for-profit service.

  • Why would you spoil the punchline in the title?

    What's the logic in this?

  • 4chan? Producing? Since 2014? HAHAHAHAHA

The pic (generally) rang true when it was made but is a decade out of date.

  • then i took an arrow to the knee

  • It's a pretty dismal strawman in the first panel. Hell, even in 2010 they were famous for being that site that just recycled memes from other sites. Comments were same shit different era, 'le', 'good sir', 'narwhal bacon'... well at least that last one was original even if lolrandumbxD.

But yeah, 'based' and 'this' are literally reused from other sites, especially 'this', which its entire purpose is to show agreement on sites that don't have voting like reddit does. People saying 'this' on reddit don't understand reddit
