If anything what we need right now is a more skeptical look at the past and the future as people are trying to sell us utopian visions of either as the solution to all our problems.

No one is scared to visit an east/southeast asian country.

Most Indie games work fine. It is just the AAA crap that somehow can't be bothered to make their stuff work on anything but Windows.

Don't anthropomorphize companies. They don't have principles. Companies are essentially nothing but incentive structures designed to maximize profits. You wouldn't expect an algorithm or a machine to have principles so why would you expect that of a company?

WW3 is going to be about who becomes the next Economy and de-facto world leader.

It won't be because the next world leader won't be stupid enough to start a war over it. The previous one might try that but it won't help and they can't afford to make it a world war.

Everyone will be hurt badly by this, it is just the US that will be hurt worst of all because they started a trade war with literally everyone at the same time AND turned themselves into a hostile environment for migrant labor AND reduced spending on education.

I would say at this point the global recession is coming even if he would revert to the previous agreements because you can't just regain trust like that.

Or, more likely, be smart enough to see the sign of the times and emigrate to a saner country.

Generally stuff like that is known as "fractally wrong", no matter how many of their assumptions you grant them for the sake of the argument the rest still doesn't make sense. Or put differently, much like a fractal you can zoom in to any magnification level and still get a picture that is fundamentally the same, bullshit at any level.

Essentially they are doing the math equivalent of using big words to sound smart.

That is before Apple levels of profit added on, right? Otherwise that seems a bit low.

I mean they are literally some of the poorest US states with the lowest GDP per capita, the highest poverty rates, the highest rates of people who need government support,... and most relevant for this discussion, the least valuable exports.
