  • He is a 50+ year old man. It is time that his father doesn't need to be hold responsible for what he does.

Unless GOP can prove that the US Congress, EU, WEF and IMF was also on it.

It is fucking ridiculous, the prosecutor that was ousted was on this position less that, he didn't even open the case (in fact the case was dormant during his tenure).

He was ousted because HE WASN'T investigating corruption. Ukrainians also wanted him removed, because he refused to go after people who ordered shooting to civilians during Euromaidan.

  • Honestly I'm not as principled as some people but I noticed that I drastically reduced my presence there and it's going down. I think a lot might have to do that RiF is missing (unrelated, but RIF's author made a client for tildes.net called weirdly Three Cheers) and I refuse to install their spammy app.

  • Fascist? I was convinced it was communist, but honestly I never checked.

Why do we have fascists, communists (lemmygrad and lemmy.ml, actually many of them aren't even pro communism as they are pro Russia).

Why can't we have normal communities here?

  • The chairman of the House Oversight Committee on Monday said he and his colleagues still lack evidence proving that President Joe Biden took bribes while he was vice president during the Obama administration, despite months of investigation into his son, Hunter Biden.

    Ah! I got it!

They were investigating the wrong person all this time. Common mistake.

  • That it didn't include all people responsible for VFX.

The 70mm IMAX version basically hit the limit of the length the equipment can handle, and even treaties special extensions: https://youtu.be/d5XqqylBW7M?t=592

Is quite cool to watch the whole video, which they show how the movie is prepared before it can be projected.

  • It is notoriously hard to replicate things in labs, especially with material science.

This was attempt to do it within 2 days of the paper being published.

To add to that, the original researchers apparently had 10% successes rate in their lab, they wanted to perfect it before publishing their paper.

Bad luck was that it leaked, so to make sure somebody else doesn't get credit for their work they published what they had within hours.

It likely will take months before this will be verified.

  • I actually noticed that when searching for "prestige biotech" (the name of the company) pretty much all the conservative media already state that it is Chinese linked. The weird thing is that they state it as a fact without explaining how they arrived to this conclusion.

I mean, it very well might be, but tell me how you arrived to that conclusion.

  • All of that can be easily checked via JavaScript, but now if you world use extensions to disable those checks you would not pass the attestation.

So yeah, essentially you no longer have control over your computer, and need to bend over and accept everything the site owner wishes to do.

  • That's exactly what it is trying to prevent. Basically you, as an user is not to be trusted, so the website and your own computer work together to prevent you from doing anything the site deems inappropriate, like spoofing things, blocking ads etc.

  • I love those. Another good one is listing:

    • Vietnam
    • Afghanistan
    • Iraq
    • Ukraine

And saying something, like this time it will be different.

They are purposefully hiding one tiny bit of detail thought, that Ukrainian war was started be is being committed by Russia.

  • You should theoretically have access to the same communities/magazines.

On desktop kbin seems to have nicer looking UI and also seems to have better sorting algorithm (at least by default) because when I connect to lemmy server even though I subscribed to the same communities, it feels more deserted for some reason.

  • Just a week or two ago there was an article where another protester was planned to burn Bible in front of Israeli embassy to show a point.

There was a response from a Rabbi saying that he doesn't approve it, that he also similarly doesn't approve burning Koran, it serves no other purpose that to generate hate, but freedom of expression is also sacred and he won't go against it.

  • Did you read the article? It essentially says "tell your little brat (that you created and use to destabilize the region) to STFU or we will be forced to supply SK and Japan with weapons for defense, and we are sure you won't like that"

  • It is the other way around. They can cause a damage especially to SK and Japan, but the nuclear weapons won't help them once they do as they just have limited number of them.

This news is, because they like to fly their rockets over other countries.
