  • They assert that how people bet, whether on the benign (who will be the next James Bond?) or the consequential (will Israel and Hamas reach a cease-fire before the end of the year?), can help forecast the future. Because there’s money involved, the thinking goes, these prediction markets leverage the collective wisdom of what people actually think will occur, not what they hope will.

DJT stock ticker would like a word.

jk We all know the DJT stock is overvalued because of money laundering and selling access rather than "collective wisdom".

  • Wasn't speaking to your specific home value. I was adding to the point that every homeowner is not a millionaire.

If someone has a house worth $350,000 but they've only paid off $50,000 from the principal, then they aren't worth $350,000. I'd argue they're not even worth $300,000.

Miss a few payments, and they lose the house plus whatever payments they'd already made. That's not personal wealth. We're just living in the bank's house until it's paid off and the deed gets transferred.

  • I found a website that said your waist is halfway between your bottom rib and the top of your hip. That was pretty close to my belly button. Got anywhere from 34" to 36" using a metal measuring tape, which could have been part of the issue. But 6'2" with 34" waist should be considered thin, right?

  • I saw a press conference where a lawyer said they had between 100 and 200+ individual civil cases coming. Not class action. Individual lawsuits. They said they were working through 3,000 reports and the 100+ cases they had so far were very solid cases.
