  • Have you looked at your ballot? You're usually not just voting on just the primary candidate. There are also elections for senators, congressmen, judges, and town and state amendments usually included. 15 to 30 questions isn't unreasonable. However for a town of 8,000, not sure how many town specific questions there are.

  • Because of the rule change, it's going to fuck over Dems too when they take over Speaker of the House. Reps are just going to oust every single Dem elected to the position every single day. All they need is one vote to challenge the Speaker. I really hope they nullify the rule.

  • This doesn't beat foss, but if you're willing to meet halfway, you can do Spotify for cheap. It's about $15 a year by taking advantage of their regional pricing in India. Method is to go on Amazon.in and buy a years GC to Spotify, then log into Spotify via VPN in India, then apply the GC.

  • COMAC, but there would be no way a new manufacturer would be able to keep up with global demand.

Airbus doesn't have the safety issues Boeing has. Airbus put in the proper R&D including safety into the A320neo to make it a safe plane. Boeing needed to play catch up to make something that could compete against Airbus's plane and decided to cut corners.

  • I wouldn't say it's MUCH better than 10 years ago, but they're definitely making an effort to expand the train system. Blue Line goes all the way to Union Station now instead of just 7th & Metro. Purple line is in development to go to at least UCLA. Expo line, not sure if that was completed before you left, but connects from Santa Monica to Union Station now.

  • Not sure if you've been to LA, but they have been working on expanding the train system in preparation for the Olympics. So they're trying to do both, use the private sector with Waymo, and were already using your tax dollars to expand public transportation. Seems like a win for commuters to me, unless you're an Uber driver.

  • I'm a little mixed on this. I do think he should be lower on the rankings due to a lot of his shitty policies.

However, he has also done some significant differences that still affect us today. He did make GPS globally available to the public at no cost. Could you imagine having to pay to use your GPS every time, or not having GPS available to you at all unless you were in the military?

  • leaving us with a president that we'll over most of America didn't vote for.

Keep in mind that in the last 30-something years, Republicans have only won the popular vote once for the Presidency, and that was back in 2004.
