Yeah, it works like a charm, by the way I use Mldonkey, but you have also emule & amule.

For me it's fine for tv shows & movies. I also use ed2k/kad network.

Not in my country. To be a crime it have to be an economic profit. You can share and download music/ tv shows/movies, but not sell it. Software is out. This is it because you pay in advance a tax when you buy an electronic device in case you download a thing.

Caring is sharing, it is not a crime to share things unless there is an economic profit

In my servers I use debian 12, but I think a good balance (stability & up to date packages) would be linux mint in my opinion.
