  • powerslides around the corner in a gas guzzling stupid american muscle car that can barely turn to save its life because the engine is too big and heavy

I step out of the car and yell "NONE OF THIS SHIT MATTERS COMPARED TO CLIMATE CHANGE YOU IDIOTS"

I then point to my shitty car and say "I am an environmentalist and I am DRIVING THAT to make a point that at this point me driving THAT piece of shit is irrelevant because we are SO FUCKED right now by Climate Change!"

I get back into my stupid af muscle car and slam the transmission into the raw torque of the engine as clumsily as possible while I chant out the window

CLIMATE CHANGE CLIMATE CHANGE CLIMATE CHANGE CLIMATE CHANGE

My license plate says "E8MYA55HNRYKSSNGR" which is way too long but whatever I am british or something....

I mean seriously, yes Nuclear Weapons are scary but do you know how scientists quantify the amount of excess heat energy in the ocean right now in units that can be compared a la the way astronomers must rectify incomprehensible regimes of force into things that can be compared?

They do it in hiroshima bombs worth of heat energy, in the thousands of hiroshima bombs worth of heat energy.

  • Yes but I think Life is a question, and it can be answered by many different methods some of which are very difficult to prove if they fully answer the question or not.. or impossible to prove at this moment.

Here is a blog post that I think does a good job of describing Christopher Alexander's (he says non-exhaustive and that the number of properties isn't overly special, these can be divided or smushed together into more or less rules depending on your perspective) properties of things that have life.

    https://iamronen.com/blog/2018/03/24/christopher-alexander-the-fifteen-properties-in-nature/

Don't treat this as pseudo-science trying to masquerade as science, treat this as a very intelligent architect (as in building architect) making some very compelling points through the lens of art in a way that I think has scientific implications once people figure out how better to translate these ideas into hypotheses that can be tested and such.

  • The architect and accidental inspiration for the idea of Object Oriented Programming, Christopher Alexander has some fascinating ideas on this subjet even if they lack scientific rigor.

The essence of his ideas, which I agree with (while recognizing there isn't any scientific rigor to disprove or prove his ideas yet) is that life is not a property of a body that the body either possesses or does not. Life is a pattern of arrangement of material in space, and Christopher to his credit is as precise about this as he can be from the lens of architecture. He defines several aspects to "living" architecture (which he means quite literally he... in a fascinating way that is actually kind of hard to argue against) such as deep interlock between borders, good negative space, imperfect but stable repetition, detail at different scale levels, centers that make other centers more vibrant in a work of art rather than draw all the focus etc....

All this to say, I think life must be an analog value, the universe doesn't have binary aspects to bodies where they are either ARE or ARE NOT something unless you are talking really fundamental physics and even then... and I agree then that life is a set of patterns that were and are woven together from a prexisting diversity and dynamism that opened the door to the genesis of what we would confidently call life.

Consider some recent research on categorizing all of the minerals on earth and how surprising or perhaps unsurprising it is that life has massively increased the diversity of geologic minerals on earth, and this is a two way street, the geologic diversity from active plate tectonics on earth provided the necessary conditions for life to form.

    https://www.quantamagazine.org/life-helps-make-almost-half-of-all-minerals-20220701/

All of this leads me to think.. Life isn't a thing it is a style that things can have. Intelligence then.. is just the idea of life made meta and integrated into conscious action by the body that perceivees instinctually that it is alive.

  • Lol ok sounds like you are suggesting the rich people on my side are actually just friends with the rich people on the side of our sworn enemies!!!!

Trust me as not a rich person, I know my rich people, they would never do that! Only the other side's rich people would and then only because secretly the whole lot of those savages, poors and all want it to even if they claim they don't and the rich are just being the heros in that situation.

  • BGM is a great acrononym I gotta admit but also it makes it sound like a mother with big guns whereas my name is meant to emphasize that self propelled armored artillery is itself the essence of being a mother distilled into a weapon.

In a related note, the origin of the word "smother" came from the phrase "shrapnel mother" being smushed into a collaqiual name for the verb that is artillery.

  • Iran getting a nuke has always been imminent to the story necessary to Netanyahu, to him we are just in the last few frames of the last scene before it has cut to the next plot point, the reason he has been acting like an angry hate baby for all this time is the story has been paused (because it is a shit story) and we just unpaused it.

Well, Joe Biden really unpaused it by giving Netanyahu complete free reign and then doing such a bad job that he handed all that power and potential directly to one fascist Donald J. Trump but it makes centrists and neolibs feel better when you only blame Trump.

  • Hey, that is a good vent, when you do a good vent people see it and say "damn I have been through/am going through/will go through that" and there is an inherent kindness to making that not a solitary feeling experience for everyone else so thank you!

If you are worried about your ADHD evaluation I get it, people around me all the time try to get me to really trust the healthcare system around me and I just can't, at every point of contact with the US healthcare system it is demonstrated that not only does the US healthcare system not understand WHY ADHD destroys my quality of life, it is actually quite violently uninterested in it to the point that the only people I am ever allowed to talk to are people without any power (on purpose) to change the things that are hurting me about the healthcare they are offering.

I would recommend focusing on how hard ADHD has made your life, but not in terms of where you have gotten. Every time you notice the doctor start to look at your credentials and go in their head "well they seem really distraught but that is a good college and not an easy job so they must be exaggerating to me" smack them back to reality with a description of how much brutal stress and anxiety ADHD brings to your daily life that you can't just sweep under the rug or meditate out of because it has to do with necessary basic life tasks.

I have to tell you as I have to tell myself every day people really DO NOT FUCKING GET how unbelievably hard you have to try to do things you can't get yourself to do. People will not only NEVER understand you for that, they may become so intimidated by your strength and power from realizing you are constantly doing that in the background seemingly "effortlessly" that they will want to destroy and crush you out of pure fear instinct. An equally large group of healthcare providers will simply never be able to grapple with how much their ignorance has hurt ADHD people they have spent far too much time extracting pride out of believing they were helping and it is easier now for their story to destroy you than start a new chapter that grapples with all of the already written chapters.

The stupidness and inanity of being invisible with ADHD because healthcare providers listen to the words you say and then look back down at their instructions after nodding and letting the words pass through their mind like wrapped gift presents not to be overly examined or memorized.. will drive you up a wall and also it may eventually kill you when healthcare providers begin to identify a more simple narrative that fits their worldview about why you won't do the thing you are supposed to.

Yeah, this is war, act accordingly...
