One of the most poignant scenes in any movie ever. Lately I think of this scene in regards to European and western liberals a lot;

A Starbucks window getting broken makes you an extremist in the west.

Mass executing religious minorities and state officials makes you a moderate in the middle east.

If you believe both, then you are an orientalist/ racist.

That was also Russia's fault. They made him a racist lib.

The European compradors will actually love it. Strategy of tension 2.0 making the European public reach new reactionary heights and somehow become even more xenophobic.

They will either deny it or do some fake narcissistic self-reflection of growth and learning.... and then promote whatever contemporary conflict is happening then.

The western liberals really went mask off with this conflict and the non-western liberals still defend them or obfuscate the racism to protect their NGO careers and paychecks.

Everyone else should just listen to the stuff coming out of European politicians' mouths. Nothing needs to be exaggerated and we don't need to imply anything. Just listen to what they say.

There are always tons of compradors to choose from, from any country. They can get them to say what they like and hide it behind a token for inclusivity and accuse you of not giving agency to a people or whatever ivy league poli sci bullshit they came up with.

Yep, apparently they realized where their material interests are, the side of imperialism. The imperialism gravy train that is the post WWII boom and later on Soviet collapse has to keep running.

Free trade as long we get to exploit labor and dump products on the markets where we exploit said labor and elsewhere. If not, then not so much. There is no ideology except self-interest to a capitalist.

It's easier to believe in something you want to happen. The "hope people will be ok" part is just so no one realizes they are a piece of shit.
