Buying a new car is not better than keeping an old one

  • Well, the carbon footprint calculator I used may not be accurate, but for the same mileage on my car vs an electric car is about 1/2 the carbon... and I assume the electric car's footprint decreases even more over time...

    Certainly, electric cars aren't solving all the problems, but reducing my carbon footprint by 1/2 over a 10 year period sounds like a pretty good start.

  • Well, I like IRC, ergonomic keyboards, sometimes debug using print commands, use Gentoo (Happy birthday!), play DnD and sometimes have to do things the hard way, and I like systemd, especially as a developer, I can test services right from my user account.

    I think the hate comes from people who just want something to hate.

  • I have all those features with Google Messages (as long as I'm not talking to an iPhone user).

  • I live on the C++ side and I find C# painful, I think it's just a matter of familiarity.
