it's not gonna decrease from there. linux only needs some product to push usage percentage, like steam deck. it's key to the mass adoption but i also don't care that much about percentage

you can do almost everything in your browser, so why don't you just switch to linux, i asked myself this question, using linux since.

they obviously not on the same level as google and meta, and media writes often about apple not wanting to unlock a criminal's iphone in a fbi case.

average user just knows that apple doesn't give your data to 3rd party, nobody thinks about apple being the bad one here.

people don't even think about apple, when talking about data privacy. they look google, amazon and facebook differently than apple.

i'm using an iphone and i had to pay for icloud storage for like a year or two. than, i bought a pc with 2tb ssd and wanted to download all of my data from icloud and delete my subscription. downloading was no problem since you can request all of your data, problem was my 128gb data was not sorted and i had to delete all of my photos by hand from icloud.

i'm thinking about buying a google pixel 7a, since it's cheap and i don't need much more, and use graphene os with it. i can return my iphone when purchasing and 7a is gonna cost something like €100-200

yeah, i get it, but it´s the same thing if you´re switching from windows to macos or the other way around. you loose searching capability [which is cmd + space] if you switch to windows, and you need a seperate app for window tiling in macos. lots of people agree that linux is the most customizable os in the market compared to macos and windows, they even have a seperate subreddit in reddit just for "ricing" which means customizing linux, you can look them in r/unixporn. btw, you have the option to run a command while using hot corners, it´s directly in the system settings. here´s a screenshot that i took just now.

i guess you're right about the "average" user. i forgot the nanny.

integrating every aspect of the customization to os itself is tricky but i think distros in general already have pretty good customization settings natively. you can do themes, icons etc.

you should explain the word "customization" a bit more.

industry is shifting towards tesla's interior design because it's much more cheaper. advantage is that they can change it's ui with an update in future. you're probably gonna be okay with 2010's cars tho

didn't read that it's a work device, but beginner linux distros are easy to install, like windows. OP probably shouldn't install another os on work device. making the switch is easy for the most people and you can use windows whenever you want besides it. linux adaptation has nothing to do with my comment. i don't care about my downvotes, what os people use or linux user percentage, but they should be aware of their options if these things annoy them. if windows works for you, and these things don't annoy you, you can happily use it.

use linux on daily basis, far better for your mental health. you can use virtual machine to work with these shitty softwares, or you can always dual-boot. make the switch!

well you could design it so, that vehicle just has a hud [heads-up display], or maybe a second passenger screen too, that way engaging with them could be more safety oriented and more aesthetic.
