  • I have a naïve question. Isn't this illegal in the first place as per the Health Act? How was it even under consideration and why wasn't this immediately shutdown?

So far all the coverage I've seen for similar cases is along the lines that "some clinics have been charging patients for preferential access to healthcare because of staff shortage" or something like that. The general vibe I've been getting is "Oh, hope they don't do this, it isn't right" instead of "They CAN'T do this".

If this is indeed illegal, why hasn't there been any aggressive takedowns as it would have been done for other crimes?

  • Thanks! Just tried it and it works perfectly. But, reddit didn't feel the same anymore I can't place my finger on why that is the case.

The content seems to have changed in the past month or so. I see better content on lemmy, at least stuff that I'm interested in.

Scrolling through my feed on Baconreader now felt like Facebook for some reason. Maybe some of my subs are still private, I don't know, but things have definitely changed.

  • Is it just me or is usenet a bit expensive? One would need to pay for both an indexer and a provider. Regular public trackers have majority of the content for, well, free. Is obscure stuff on Usenet easier to find?
