  • You can have a democratically elected king. It's only not a democracy when the king decides who takes the throne after them, instead of having an election. We have a Democratic Kingdom, say it with me phonetically -Dema-kratik-king-dumb-. Did we want this? I dont fuckin know... a majority kept voting for it so we the people must have fuckin wanted it. What is dead however, is the republic. Ain't no one representing you, you just vote people into a throne.

  • So long as there is people living in a place, having kids, and trying to improve their lives, the places will remain. The government may change, social structure's get overhauled, but the same fact that people are having kids and building a life means those places are unlikely to go away. The old republic is dead. We have supreme court justices taking bribes then passing judgments saying they can. We have the position of President where anyone in it can legally say "I was doing it for my country the laws don't apply." And get away with it. The United States of America as a Democratic Republic, is over. But there still exists a United States of America that has transitioned to a Democratic Empire/kingdom. So to the question; "Is the USA screwed?" The simple answer is No. It will continue on so lobg as the population does. Is the Democratic Republic of the United States screwed? Bitch be dead, screw the corpse if you like.

  • Not since Ryan Cohen gave the shorts everything they wanted with the stock sale last year and had absolutely nothing to show for it like a new product or acquisition. Ryan Cohen betrayed his core investors and did something that was supposed to be impossible. He turned a MACD Golden cross into a death cross with a stock sale. Impossible because it would take considerable timing, and back door dealing that is still illegal, in order for it to happen. GameStop dead. Ryan selling assets cuz the ship ain't righted, and he ain't got a better plan. Shrink the business and rip off the small guys that invested.

  • It's a very strange phenomenon, where people are doing things that appears to help them short term, while actually just screwing themselves entirely. Dooming their entire segment of the population because they simply don't have anyone standing there with violence on hand, telling them: NO! Pretty fucking weird, it would be like me, a dude angry from actions taken against me, harassing my neighbors by stealing their packages. It's definitely going to get the wrong kind of attention, and no ones gonna be on my side for doing it... That's what the GOP is doing. Fucking morons.

  • Been considering a new name for the 1 state solution that merges both Gaza and Israel into a working 1 state solution. Fantastica was my initial thought, kinda gives a middle finger while being a nice reference to the fact anyone murdering children for any reason are living in a fantasy world with real world repercussions like Fantastica in The Never Ending Story, book not movie, movies got nostalgia on it's side but the book is a lot better, even though it was originally a young adult novel, I read it about 9yo, and liked it so much it's still one of my favorite books 30ish yrs later... But if not Fantastica, maybe New Manhattan, or New Juneau, new Alaska, gotta be something that shatters their belief the land is holy. Fertile, sure, holy... Well it is holey where they keep detonating. But if all it takes is "talking to god", fine, I talked to god, they busy, that land is as holy and sacred as the current inhabitants see the life of people they view as less than them. So Israel is gonna need to be leveled, for something useful like a giant pyre of holy texts, Gaza too, what's good for the goose is good for the gander. To quote Borat: " your opinion is no require."

  • George Washington Carver, IS NOT the man that carved up George Washington...Bart. He is probably one of my most revered entities because I genuinely don't know if he actually expected to find all of the uses he did for peanuts. His genius borders on insanity and I love it. I mean what single other person can say they found food, industrial, and cosmeceutical, uses for a single thing like the peanut? Most the other mass use products I've found had maybe 1 founder that found something interesting,(there is a few standouts including the creator of vaseline-he ate a spoonful a day for health go figure) but George Washington Carver turned peanuts into something that is still the cornerstone of industries(they remove the oil from peanut butter and sell it for industrial uses cuz it's worth so much, which is also why I'm upset at Mr Carver, peanut butter with the oil is delicious, but I digress that's a bit off topic). A quick glance at his Wikipedia indicates he actually did a ton more than peanuts, but the amount of uses he discovered personally has always astounded me. Those who are offended by history are likely trying to recreate a stupid mistake already made by others.

  • I usually put my cart away if the parking lot is full. Otherwise, that's what they pay the cart wranglers for, to wrangle stray carts. I even used to work at Kmart decades ago as a cashier and wrangled charts when the lines died down, so if the lots not full, and the employees are paid to recover the carts and as I know, it's a nice break to wander the parking lot instead of ringing people up, idk who is really upset about carts being left to their own devices... It does suck when the wind blows a cart into you or your car, but that's pretty rare... I do make sure my cart doesn't just roll off when I'm done, no need to send a cart missile careening across the parking lot, but otherwise I've never seen a good reason to not leave your shopping cart in an empty lot.

  • It's worse than that. Elon identified one of the core tenets impacting employment and he didn't even know he was doing it. H1-B visa engineers are underpaid, and over worked, the rich are replacing the hardworking US engineers that demand good pay with slave labor engineers from foreign countries. If an immigrant is better at a job than me, it stings, but by all means pay them a good wage and give them a fancy title, but if there really isn't a difference other than you can pay them less... Get them out, and fill the jobs with people already here. Replacing good workers with slave labor is part of what has strangled the middle class into lower middle class, and bottom class people.

    1. It used to be that if you had to rent an apartment you were poor, even in the cities you could buy an apartment when working at an educated level of job. Now, people just rent an expensive apartment and people assume they have money, Unless you have a support system to help you, you aren't buying a home. If you do you will be working a side gig as well as your main job, and that's just to make the two different ends of paychecks meet in the middle.
  • Yeshua Hamashiach, the person modern Christianity knows as Jesus, rumor according to records that have been found, show not only did Yeshua actually exist, they were likely light skinned. That doesn't mean they were white, and since we have no living person to question, and assuming the romans were being correct in their documents(I think romans, I'm being lazy and not looking it up, also it might be buried in a tome somewhere, or a history journal where they classified someone known as Yeshua Hamashiach as roman inflection or some such meaning lighter skinned), Yeshua might have been somewhere between Ricky Ricardo and the Weekend. Also I've never found a lick of evidence for turning water into wine, so not saying the miracles are true or not(miracles can happen, tho I do wonder how many miracles would actually be miracles if we just understood the actual process taking place), but Yeshua Hamashiach, aka Jesus seems to have actually existed. Probably a granola eating hippy type that preached about equality, and freedom for all, and was the first to do so and melted everyone's damn mind...

  • New tech is always more expensive. So this is a dumb headline. Keep advancing it, selling it, and using it, and it will get better and cheaper over time. Removing carbon and the slew of chemicals that are too heavy to float off the earth is a requirement because they don't just go away...

  • Ooooooo I hate you so much... Here's how much! Does your subconscious have a conscience? A subconscious conscience? Yeah bitch you can't stop saying it, melted my brain welcome to my world.

  • While this is hilarious, likely because it's true. Dudes going after SSRI's. SSRI's saved my life. AND after using them for years I simply slowly reduced my dosage over about a month and I was off them and now only use them as an emergency pill if something really stressful or bad happens it keeps me from getting too emotionally raw and ragged. I have a supply to likely last me years so this doesn't impact me. It worries me for the people the SSRI's could help, but he wants to keep the drugs a way from.

  • When you can't earn money, then, time isn't money, Money IS Money! Sure that device costs $5 to replace, but with those two hours that you weren't earning cash, you saved $5 that you can spend on whatever your heart desires. When you aren't earning, save.

  • Lemmy from Lemmy and sqiugy, and frediverse which is multiple time line versions of Freddie from Scooby doo. They only sing ghost busters cover versions. Somehow they are the best band in history.

  • Just try using AI for a complicated mechanical repair. For instance draining the radiator fluid in your specific model of car, chances are googles AI model will throw in steps that are either wrong, or unnecessary. If you turn off your brain while using AI, you're likely to make mistakes that will go unnoticed until the thing you did is business necessary. AI should be a tool like a straight edge, it has it's purpose and it's up to you the operator to make sure you got the edges squared(so to speak).

  • Me: EAT THE RICH! Bill Burr: I got you fam...

    1. To be clear, the 1% I am speaking about are NOT the 1% of your neighborhood, county, or city(necessarily). I speak of the Global 1%. The 1% that make your retired home owning uncle with just under 1million in his retirement look like the firmly lower middle class that he is.
