They definitely dove off the cliff during the pandemic and I agree with what you said. I can accept complications but not fully brainwashed. These are people I had great in person politics talks with. The openness to admit they might be wrong, accepting new ideas, was all replaced with word for word GQP kool-aid.

Will never not be gross to read. I know way too many good people poised by the non stop lies and they'll never be the same after. Yes, I said good people who got caught up during the pandemic and now get news from some dude in his basement. Certain people I can't even have simple conversations with because even the most basic things dip into complete nonsense based on this guy and his circus clowns.

This sounds like the beginning of RoboCop 2. Specifically the part when OCP is trying to make a new RoboCop and the test RoboCops flip out. That's kinda how I see this playing out.

This and people getting profiled and harassed. So many stories of people in bone stock cars getting pulled over, stopped for long periods of time because an officer thinks they might have something illegal installed. People moding cars like this will most likely just pay someone to pass the test because that's exactly how people get around these tests now.

I think the invite system slows people joining vs Threads easy sign up. I agree that it is straight up old Twitter and enjoying myself on it. I just started getting invites , they go fast but definitely give them out. Seems like every time I see a post about it I don't have a code to give out. Definitely need to just keep one on deck for the Lemmy comment section.

Yes, it makes perfect sense. In the words of Juicy J "people do strange things for that change, yeah money will do". Fear is powerful, they say what needs to be said to remain in power. Hell grandma Boebert is on stage yelling about being squeaky clean, but having the full service 15 year old theater experience in Beetlejuice. Then flat out lied about it despite being on tape.

If you have a full workforce of people that can't strike, labor laws don't apply, they can't tell anyone about sexual assaults, injuries, do you think the politicians who are getting cash care? Do you think those kids getting busted working in factories were america kids or undocumented kids?

My point is the people screaming the loudest about illegal immigration directly profit from it and gas people against it. They literally roll in the money and donate it to the same folks on nightly news talking about the border crisis. If there already in the U.S working to generate wealth for other people, like the rest of us, why can't they be made citizens to have the same rights as the rest of us?

Did you know Donald Trump pardoned the dude who ran the company of the biggest immigration bust in U.S history (for the time)? I'm mentioning it because if you like overnight delivery, fruit, meat, clean hotel rooms, the list goes on, I have some bad news for you. This eliminates an entire pool of people from another level of exploitation and abuse in the U.S. To put it bluntly , this is a good thing.

I got an invite from the only person I actually know on it and it's not bad. I'm interested, but still messing around with it to get the most out of it.

The only thing that would get me to do it is for sports. It would have to have the games, shows, commentary nonsense and be able to live chat with other fans /players. A full experience of sports. Outside of that not a chance.
