Yes, a nightmare I had as a child, many years ago (around 30ish). I was in a desert/beach....the air was dusty and orange-tinted. There was a gazebo made of wood, almost rotting or rotten, and a giant golem who trapped me in a wooden box. The whole thing was terrifying, and dry and hot.
Synthpop, new wave, dark wave, cold wave, minimal wave, post-punk, goth rock....
...but like synthpop more than anything else. I gotta have those hooks. 3

Happy to listen to lots of stuff though. Some others that come to mind right away: Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Kylie Minogue, Madonna, Moist, Technotronic, early Skinny Puppy, Gunship, Luis Ake...
But my cats have all always smothered me with love, and that's something I've always loved about them! Maybe because I find cats very easy to communicate with, whereas with dogs I always feel kinda ackward.
If I've just met you, with cautious optimism. I don't feel able to let my guard down until I have a better sense of you as an ally (or not). Having said that, at least a slight majority of people in my friend group are cishet, so it's not like I'm looking for reasons not to like un-queer folks :P
In all seriousness life has been pretty harsh these last few months with a pretty major health thing concerning my wife (she'll live; she's in good spirits but our lives have very suddenly changed a lot rather permanently). We also had to say goodbye to our oldest cat and very good boy shortly before all this.
So I'm just focusing on trying to be positive and maintain a good outlook and take care of myself better, for my own health and to be able to help her better. I have earrings that look like orange slices and I got my wife a pair that look like avocados.
Here in Ontario is pretty good for me as a trans person, well at least in terms of my being trans. I feel fortunate.
