  • The appeal will attempt to win a preliminary injunction blocking the Activision Blizzard merger with Xbox ahead of a scheduled trial in August. The deal is currently scheduled to be completed on July 18.

If the deal is not completed by that date, Xbox will be forced to pay $3 billion to Activision Blizzzard and the merger will potentially be opened to renegotiation.

It should be interesting to see how far they let Monopolysoft go in this situation.

  • Notice how you don't hear the WGA complaining. This whole story is just producers trying to placate their investors, and not really doing a convincing job of it. Writers are used to going way longer than 5 months between gigs. I'm a little surprised we aren't seeing producers in the streets, begging for handouts.

  • I prefer using Linux because I can customize my desktop without having to install a dozen different 3rd-party apps.

  • I think it's strange that content producers see AI as a competitor rather than what it really is: a valuable future tool of theirs. AI can really take all the grind out of any kind of design/performance work, and expedite the heck out of your production.

  • Companies also often try to stop customers from leaving by offering them better deals before they complete the cancellation process. A “call to cancel” mechanism lets some companies personalize a better deal for a would-be fleeing customer, and better understand why customers are leaving, some customer experience executives say.

This is very similar to how AOL operated back in day. The excuses they use for the abuse they give customers is just amazing.
