  • Grew up in the 80s and 90s. As progressive and openminded as I thought I was then...holy shit there are a lot of words and phrases I won't touch any more because they sound archaic, racist, mysoginistic, or hateful today. Back then they were perfectly acceptable everyday things no one would bat an eye at. It does make me happy that at least in this small arena we seem to have made progress as a society.

(Should add that this is from a US perspective)

  • answer is NO... you don't get a turn clown. This shit stops

Good. I think too many in gen x just got crushed by being so devoid of agency, politically speaking, that they just gave up. It's been a struggle watching this country I was told to love and support unconditionally continuously spiral downward because the generation that preceeded me milked the system for all it was worth before stealing the same opportunities for social and economic advancement from future generations.

  • What is a "better" onion? More variety, maybe? Onions come in two kinds for me (other than type) edible and not; not a lot of spectrum on onion quality for me I guess.

Just about any other fruit or vegetable I can accept the varying quality of produce but onions and potatoes are either firm and good or mushy and not for me.

Or I could be overthinking what was probably an arbitrarily pulled example for an explanatory analogy.

  • Don't forget about bangs for searching alternate sites: https://duckduckgo.com/bangs !w = wikipedia, !e = ebay, !zillow = guess, !r = reddit, etc

Just put your bang in front of the rest of the search you want to do on that site: !g why doesn't Google use bangs? !ddg Why does Duck Duck Go use bangs?

  • EDIT: Shit, now I got it, they’re related in 12s, like in dousens… why, WHY!

    Haha, if only.
