  • I browse mostly by All/Everything, and it's about an 70/20/10 split of non-English communities, sports communities, and anime communities respectively.

The non-English communities are typically on non-English local instances (feddit.org, feddit.nl, jlai.lu, etc), but I don't want to block those instances entirely because their users will still participate in other communities in English and it's not their fault that I just don't speak the language.

The sports communities are just because I don't typically care for that type of content. There are only a couple of sports I actively follow, and within those sports I don't need to see communities dedicated to each and every specific team, so I just block to filter the ones I have no interest in.

As for the anime, I actually do love anime, but a lot of them are communities for specific series I'm not into (which, if I'm being frank, are almost all just utter shit-tier waifu bait material), and others are very creepy "X"-moe communities which just make me feel gross when they turn up (and for those, blocking a single user was enough to get rid of 99% of that).

  • With that in mind, though, since the Switch 2 runs Switch 1 games with better performance (even ones that don't have paid upgrades), I'd wonder if it might not still be better to finish out the Switch catalog on Switch 2 anyways just so you can have consistent framerates on some games.

  • I'm not sure how OP did it, but I did find a recipe online which at least ostensibly produces something similar to what OP posted:

    https://www.okonomikitchen.com/rice-cooker-bibimbap/

It looks like you put most everything in together at the start, excluding softer veggies. Put those in at the end, and steam for a few minutes, and then top with a fried egg cooked separately when done.

  • Vader was always there, it was just a matter of him being changed from the original actor to Hayden Christensen because he was more recognizable.

But in context, it doesn't seem to make much sense. Why does Darth Vader age down, while Obi Wan is still Alec Guinness instead of Ewan McGregor? If it's supposed to be reflective of the last time he was "good", why isn't it him at the moment he decided to save his son and kill the Emperor?

  • Also color me disinterested.

I thought it was actually going to be a novel take on arena shooter formats, with a moving game map that would bring in new parts of a stage over time as others disappear. But the more I learned about it, the less interested I became.

So if anyone is looking to make a Rubik's cube arena shooter, the market is still open.

  • I just want to say, thank you for putting in the effort to share out all of the news and announcements from this event.

It's nice to see so much content filling up the community, makes it actually feel a bit like the old E3 season on Reddit.

  • That's exactly what their MO is. All of the Venezuelans they shipped to El Salvador were supposedly participating in criminal activities, which of course did not need to be proven if there was no due process.

All they need to do is make the claim that someone or another is participating in these criminal activities and disappear them as well.

Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a legal resident of the US, is still in an El Salvador prison and was never charged with a crime.

  • It probably depends on the person. I know for me, reading books is only entertaining if I can visualize what is happening like scenes from a movie. Sometimes I even "cast" real-world actors in this imagined movie because it makes it easier for me to keep characters consistent.

Reading just for information retention, on the other hand, sometimes takes me a few passes because I will end up zoning out if it's not something I can visualize.
