For very short-term things, i.e. today or tomorrow, a sticky note on my desktop that goes into recycling the moment it is done. For medium term things, a checklist manager like Google Keep. For longer term or complex things, then project management software like Jira. As another commenter suggested, treat these like a scrum.

For request that I or my team perform for others, it goes into a ticketing system 100%.

I think it's more fundamental than that. Little 8 year old Donald Trump walked up and down Manhattan with his father staring up at giant oil and steel buildings and thought to himself that THAT was success. It's not really about the industry, it's about being so wildly successful that you can put up buildings like that.

We've moved well past that economy but Trump is still stuck in the early 1950s.

Presuming that the effect is as you say--that it could encourage domestic production, the real issue is how quickly it can take a supply chain to spin up. Remember that it really did take about 2 years for things to start up fully after lockdown, and that was when factories and such were already in existence. To do that here would easily take a decade presuming that there was sufficient investment.

TLDR; these had built in musical synthesizers. Same sorts of chips you'd find in electronic keyboards. You don't have to record the sound, just the instruction for the chip to play the sound you want.

I do think you're right. Friendster and MySpace were pretty much the peak, then when real social media took over, it all went to shit. Since then, tech exists not to perform some function but to justify its existence specifically to earn money.
