  • No it doesn’t. Operation mockingbird implies that every government tries to influence the narrative of the free press, and literally always has. And the CIA was no exception.

If you see no difference between an attempt to influence the narrative of the free press by the state, and not having a free press at all, only a literal extension of the state serving propaganda as the narrative, I don’t know what to tell you.

  • Sorry, are you suggesting he was right?

Point of clarification, he did not attack the US government or military. He murdered a bunch of folks going to work or taking a vacation, who just happened to be in the US at that moment.

  • Rationalizing collateral damage is not the same as intending to cause mass death without distinction.

If the US or Israel’s goal was maximizing death, the numbers would be astronomically higher.

    It is false equivalence.

  • They lied to you. Business class certainly fully reclines into a bed if you were flying Singapore Airlines, which is the only airline that flies non stop. There’s no first class on the non stop.

They also have a flight through Frankfurt, first class and business class on that plane (A380) definitely turn into a bed. In fact, in Suites class (first), the middle two seats combine to create a queen size bed.

  • Yes, but in context:

South Korea has essentially been free of bedbug issues since the 1970s when the government implemented insecticides all across the country resulting in just nine bedbug cases reported in the last decade, according to the Ministry of Disease Control and Prevention Agency

9 in 10 years to 30 is an astronomical jump.

  • Read the link I sent and decide for yourself how simple it is.

You’ll find that Jewish people didn’t perpetrate settler-colonialism on Palestine either. The British did what the British do. Then the UN did some stuff.

  • The Arab states chose not to participate in the partition plan, figuring they would destroy Israel and capture all the territory instead with military might as soon as Britain pulled out. It of course didn’t work out that way.

There’s blame on both sides since 1947 and before. This is a war Palestine (and Egypt, Syria and Jordan) have waged on Israel and Israel has waged on them.

There isn’t a good guy to be found here. It’s bad guys all the way down.

  • I think I’m arguing the exact opposite. We should ban/defederate nazis and tankies. But we shouldn’t ban people with different views that aren’t beyond the pale.

You can have a nuanced opinion of Israel/Palestine without being labeled as a genocide denier since it’s still in the fog of war.

It’s much harder to have a nuanced opinion about Rohingya, the Holocaust, Uyghur, Darfur.
