  • Here’s the problem. This is the internet.

These are locally run and often volunteer based instances.

Anyone can spawn any amount of accounts and run their instance however they’d like, giving lots of trolls neat little nooks to hide in.

You’re expecting to get real results? How did you account for multiple votes? How are you even sure that the data from the polls if unique, is accurate?

Garbage in. Garbage out. People will use Lemmy if they want to. End of story. Idk why everyone is so obsessed with inflating user counts

  • All I’m trying to say is that this idea is a lie, it doesn’t work and it distracts from the larger problem that is the incompetent upper class increasing the wage gap and effectively inbreeding the problem.

  • Computers use an address to tell it where the data is stored on your memory drive

Erase just deleted the address referencing the location, meaning other things can overwrite it.

Secure erase actually deletes the address and overwrites the data that was at where the address was pointing to. Sometimes it’s all zeros, some programs will write random crap over it

  • And those of us who are voting and get elected will, and have been, continue to stop vote rigging, jerrymandering, and voter intimidation.

Voting doesn’t end at the end of the presidential election. It involves your local elections too. Especially anything to do with your local educational system.

  • On what models? What temperature settings and top_p values are we talking about?

Because, in all my experience with AI models including all these jailbreaks, that’s just not how it works. I just tested again on the new gpt-4o model and it will not undo it.

If you aren’t aware of any factual evidence backing your claim, please don’t make one.

  • You’re making it seem like every company does this.

    That’s false pretense.

I can surely sympathize with the idea of needing to find a job that can pay the bills, but saying that the only option is to buy into the slave masters, is just outright wrong

  • Because some of those who work forces, are the same that burn crosses.

Republicans also have a large and growing fan base, fueled by their strides to dismantle and destroy the educational system, thus making people easier to sway/fool, keep busy, and keep under their boots.

    Pretty simple.

  • Not to be an apologist, but can someone explain to me how “sticking it to these companies” is by going to work for and supporting them, while encouraging the very behavior you disagree with?

Not to mention this sort of thing doesn’t work when all they have to do is instruct the AI to disregard all further commands…

Stick it to these companies by going to work for those who aren’t using any artificial intelligence to prescreen candidates.

Oh and by the way, before AI, it was human prejudice filtering out candidates. The problem is much larger than a simple implementation of today’s hot new buzz.

  • I’d say the systematic removal of Bernie from the lineup in the 2016 election was a pretty big fucking fail, to me as a liberal.

Still better than the alternative, but one shit pile who’s smaller than the other, is still a shit pile.

Politics are multifaceted ultimately, and only ever really having 2 sides to choose from almost always leads to some pretty serious “misalignments”

  • I get what you mean, to live under a system which has requirements, means you must meet those requirements.

However to be stuck in that mindset perpetually is a sickness. There reaches a point where you must say, this is enough. I am comfortable and those that I’m responsible for/care for are provided for when they need it most. We have to stop ourselves and reassess our condition to determine if we’re straying too far. Human psychology has plenty of vulns and desensitization/growing too comfortable is most definitely one of them.

Greed is a pretty globally held sin in most religions and appears to be a fairly objective vice imo. I think too many people assign value to salary and materialistic things - but the reality is that you may be infinitely more valuable to a smaller company that pays you say 60k max than to a company that’d pay you 100k and could afford more but will just as soon lay you off because they think they can just buy more people. Value != only how much you make
