Not sure if this is still the case, but in the past the FM radio functionality essentially came "free" as part of either the SoC or modem. Since it used headphone wires as the antenna, the death of the headphone jack pretty much killed any purpose for including it.
There is one feature that is missing on all other music streaming apps that makes them useless to me: Spotify Connect
I remote desktop into another computer for work a lot, so I need a solution for listening to my music on my main computer, while controlling it from another device.
Not just for PLA either, they are my default brand for all filament unless they don't make the filament I need/want for a project. Reasonably priced, consistently available, and high quality.
When developing a product you order "process corner" chips that are primarily used for testing the memory timings (through a process called Shmoo) to make sure it is stable. The "FF" class of these chips are also useful for testing thermals as they draw the maximum power you will see with the silicon lottery. So assuming Apple did this properly they should have had a good idea of what the product temperature is at the operating temperature extremes.
What about new phones is driving you to get a new one? The industry has been stagnant for quite a while now and every year it feels like the only selling point is "camera improvements". If anything I think phones have lost features over time with the last worthwhile phone being the Galaxy S10 with everything since being a downgrade in multiple ways.
I quit them a long time ago. Once we got to the point where I had to think about which service a show was on, I was done and cancelled Netflix. I guess I technically have Prime Video, but I almost never use it. Since then the services have only gotten worse.
The only streaming service I've kept and don't mind paying for is Spotify since you can still get just about everything in one place.
I purchased a 1st gen Framework in early 2022 because I strongly believe in the ethos of the company and even though I didn't really need a laptop, I wanted to support the company.
Overall I'm quite happy with the laptop, there are definitely a few things that weren't great on the 1st gen units, such as the speakers, hinges, and the battery life. Some of those I have since upgraded as they improved them in later years, and it now meets my needs pretty well.
Definitely do your research if you are planning on starting any NAS with 2TB HDDs. For the most part you can only really add drives of the same size to a RAID Array (e.g. with FreeNAS), and with Unraid your parity drive you start with must be the largest disk in the system. So when you run out of space you might end up cursing yourself by not starting with larger drives. I have even regretted only starting with 4TB drives in my NAS.
You are overthinking the docker issue, it was just a software issue and broke the container in a way that I either couldn't, or don't have the skill to recover.
Yes, but with caveats. If you go to a big mattress store and buy from the big brands (Sealy, Simmons, Serta, etc.) you are getting a mattress that is cheaply built at a high price due to shitty private equity firms buying up the brands and squeezing every bit of value from them.
I ended up spending a fair bit ($2600 but the "equivalent" at the major chain store was $3400) on a locally manufactured mattress with more expensive materials like latex foam and wool but only after I tried a bunch and found one that kept me nice and aligned. Immediately I stopped waking up with the type of pain that would stay with me all day (I would be slightly stiff for 15 minutes instead), and now that my body is used to it I only very rarely wake up in pain.
The big thing is to find somewhere without shitty sales tactics, and to try a bunch of mattresses out and find out what works for you. I didn't like the memory foam mattresses, but some people love them. There is a reason why they make firm, medium, and soft mattresses. There are mattresses where the springs are the same all over, or vary based on where people keep their body weight.
A lot of that is because it is believed that an employee needs to grow in order to be satisfied in their position, at the same time the only path that employers have is to move someone out of an individual contributor role into the management track once they hit a senior level.
Good employers will have upper level individual contributor track positions that are well paid, or at least have a job level where someone can stay at forever. Even then, if your boss thinks you would be a good manager you can end up forced into the position.
This seems to be a case of start with a horrible plan that they know will make everyone angry only to roll it back to a plan that still sucks but isn't quite as bad to try to reduce the sting. The thing is, I don't think their customers are that stupid.
The main issues are in access to care in a timely manner for issues that aren't urgent. It can take longer than you want to get treatment on issues that affect quality of life, but not actually life threatening if they aren't treated, whether it be getting into a specialist, getting tests like MRIs or surgery. We also have a significant shortage of family doctors in many places. The aging population and poor affordability of the country are significantly stressing the system though with little relief in sight.
But, if you are sick and need care, you will generally get it when you need it and it isn't going to cost you much as most things are covered by the province's medical services plan (medications, dental, vision, etc. will cost you unfortunately). Personally I've not had many issues when I've needed care. I see a specialist for a condition and other than waiting to get an initial appointment I haven't had to wait an unreasonable amount of time for tests or anything I've had done.
Your pronouns are whatever you would like to be referred to. Generally someone would either correct you or you would hear the right ones during conversation to learn someone else's. If they outwardly present as a specific gender then I would normally assume (or default to they/them) and just apologize and correct if someone corrects me. Most normal people will take such an interaction in stride without further thought.
In terms of online, people often add it to their profile so you know, or to indicate to others that you respect their choice of pronouns.
I agree, keep your password manager, 2FA, and email all on separate services so at least there is some protection from getting your accounts stolen if they get access to one of them.
Sort of but not exactly, the recent shift is because money has gotten expensive and now investors are wanting to take a profit rather than tossing money around hoping to get lucky. So now these business types are scrambling to do anything that makes the business profitable when their entire business plan was unsustainable without the constant influx of money keeping them afloat under the guise of "growth".
