  • This is just getting too big too fast.

Lots of things change when you grow too fast, one of them is that any stupid failure will be found and exploited.
The project will mature and get a better security process, that has nothing to do with politics.

  • I would like to see some numbers first. Donations work fine for mastodon.

  • That would be a good argument for a filter instead.

  • For communities they both work the same, hey we're talking here right?

  • It's possible, but there is no reason at all to have the kbin magazines separate from the communities.
They all federate the same, so why not list them all the same.

  • It's hiding kbin magazines. There should be no difference between kbin magazines and lemmy communities when searching and exploring.

And they could fix this if they wanted to.

  • My normal YT algorithm was ok, but shorts tries to pull me to the alt-right.
I had to block many channels to get a sane shorts algorythm.

"Do not recommend channel" really helps

  • So after getting a an AI analysis of all your comments, them selling your data. You only worry about upvotes?
That's a small difference. This example takes a small difference and blows it up to the extreme.

  • Useless fearmongering if focussed on Lemmy only.

This could be done to any twitter, mastodon or reddit user

  • It would be cheaper for google to just buy reddit, remove the adds and open the api's again.

Having relevent search results is priceless.

  • 9 subscribers, 1 shitposter.
    I'm not worried yet
