  • It brings me unimaginable sadness to know that my recently born nephew will grow up in such a region, when just a few years ago you could see hundreds of these guys in any given back yard

  • It's gonna be an awful four years, but I genuinely think if he tries to stay in office past 2029, there will be violence. The media would have you believe that his supporters are more galvanized than ever, but here in three and a half years after every country other than Russia has cut all trade ties with us, conservatives are going to realize just how bad Republican politicians are.

Trump got elected because Biden failed to improve conditions for the vast majority of voters. The next Democrat will win because Trump is making shit so much worse.

Of course you'll interact with some extremely prideful Trump supporters who think a tanking stock market and exponentially more expensive eggs are good, but the vast majority of his supporters aren't out there with MAGA flags and hats and stuffed bears.

  • Why don't you have more underwear packed?

Equally funny whether you interpret it as a nagging motherly figure worried about this young man having enough clothes, someone who really wants this guy to stay longer, or someone who doesn't understand that laundry is a thing you can wash

  • Imagine how much cooler a telescope would look to a snake

I wish I could see infrared

  • If we want to talk about first, then Maze War takes the trophy. Wolfenstein 3D may have come before Doom, but it lacked the influence and staying power. Wolf may have been earlier, but Doom birthed the genre as we know it

  • Many other games have "defined" their genres, but few have done so quite as completely as Doom (1993). And on top of birthing the entire FPS genre, the practice of making Doom run on any electronic device with a screen and a CPU has long been a fantastic exercise in programming and hacking. The possibility of implementing Doom in everything from calculators to pregnancy tests to Captcha in a browser window has kept the game in the public consciousness for decades, and will continue to do so for decades to come.

Of course the real answer is Clash of Clans, because it popularized mobile gaming and skyrocketed that platform's revenue to the point that it outpaces every other gaming platform combined, but I'll boycott BAFTA if something riddled with microtransactions gets any recognition

  • Mobile is the biggest platform by far. Mobile games make more money than console and PC combined.

Can't wait for some console/PC gamer to tell me that playing Bloons TD doesn't make you a gamer, but playing Fortnite somehow does

  • No one:

Me: At this point, my brain literally just filters it out. I didn't notice it in this meme until I read your comment

  • The average person cannot make the connection between the food they eat and the animal it was. People act so appalled by the torturous conditions in animal farms, and then stop at McDonald's on their lunch break to pick up some chicken nuggets, totally unaware of the irony

  • The fact that Google refused to restore his account even after the police that they called said there was no child porn pisses me off to no end. They are officially allowed to close your account for no reason other than they don't like you.

  • Jesus Christ they're like bed bugs

Is it too much to ask that my phone only contain the shit that makes it work, and not anything else?

  • Below average redwood

  • The most success I've had is just explaining that it's a social media platform that exists across a variety of websites that all synchronize communities and posts and comments and votes, and you can interact with any of them from any other one

The problem with the email analogy is that, for most people, email exists as the Gmail app on their phone. It does not occur to them how I can send an email from my Hotmail account to their Gmail account. The moment you say the word protocol, 80% of people's eyes glaze over

  • Kansas, so basically yeah

  • My local Family Video just has them out with the action/adventure movies

The Dark Knight, Deadpool, Debbie Does Dallas, Dracula Untold...

  • Macross 7 by Disney directly, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia and The Simpsons by various other rights holders, and probably more that I'm not even aware of

Right now it's just one plotline in Macross 7 that involves sexual assault, and some "offensive" episodes of Always Sunny and The Simpsons. From what I've read, the Macross one makes the show better, but I'd rather not set a precedent that lets them clip out every gay and trans character to please the current administration
