  • I live in the hottest part of Germany. In the north, AC honestly isn't that necessary and we managed really well by just keeping the blinds closed, but down here it's impossible.

  • I was in Venice at 41C with 90 percent humidity. It was like trying to breathe underwater.

  • It's like that here in Germany too. They have a legal lower temperature limit, but otherwise it's just "if it's hot you have to give your employees water."

It will be 40C next week. No AC in my office.

  • I don't follow influencers, just actual friends and the odd comic. Instagram doesn't make me unhappy.

  • Until you can fix it, open the windows, curtains and blinds at night and shut them during the day.

  • Oh, just can it, American.

  • I'm so sick of this divisive generation claptrap.

  • My dad is in his eighties. You know what he does for most of the day? He visits elderly people in the countryside who can no longer drive and are stuck at home.

  • Skip Germany. They've just banned wearing the LGBTQ+ flag in parliament claiming it's "not neutral". Even though, yanno, banning the damn thing definitely isn't neutral.

  • I also have LC. I can have a shower. But I take at least an hour to gear up for it. Then I can only do it sitting doen, then I take an hour to find the energy to dry myself off, then I take an hour to gain the energy to get dressed, etc. Tl;dr it takes all morning and I can't have a shower every day.

I took a shower at 11 am and I'm still exhausted at 5 pm (the summer heat doesn't help).

  • Yup, same. 2 weeks while backpacking. I did have a washcloth, of course.

  • He's renting it from the interest and profits he gets from those stocks. I'm paying tax on the gains I get from my stocks and so should he.

  • Which reminds me, you may want to have a close look at that BBB.

  • Paris has so many flowers that there are more bees inside Paris than outside Paris.

Although that's also because of the pesticides used outside Paris.

  • If there were nukes in those bunkers, they would have moved them as soon as Israel attacked. Sauce: journalist who works in the Middle East.

  • They're attracted to electric light, which kills them. They're not attracted to gaslight, which is one of the reasons people are protesting the replacement of gas lighting in Berlin.
