I guess it could help to talk to someone familiar with it, maybe they would know the lay of the land. Otherwise it’s a matter of deciphering the architecture of the ancients. Your ability to do that entirely depends on how obscure it all is to you. Many software projects have been born out of the incomprehensibility and unmaintainability of older otherwise-perfectly-functional codebases ☺️
My strategy has been to look around for specialty roasters that also sell v60 filters so I can get them as part of a coffee mailorder. I started keeping a list of the ones I discover and was considering trying to put it out into the wild, not sure what the best way of doing that may be. I prefer to buy local but do not prefer my only local roaster that carries v60 filters, they do their coffee a bit too “second wave” for my liking (everything pretty dark and lacking character, even stuff they call light and single origin).
You could also just hang out where finer coffees are made, i.e. coffee shops. You might not enjoy it black at first but you will find that if its made really well it doesn’t need anything added to taste sweet and balanced and delicious.
how about making a requirement of user participation in the network be hosting a chunk of distributed cache?
