I fear more that YouTube's harder push on forcing ads to users will result in a user-base exodus to Rumble.
The amount of comments I've seen on various YT videos about how YouTube is breaking adblockers and forcing ads on users while making it a TOS Violation, where the comment says something like "I'll just move to rumble, lol", is worrying.
The other side of that being Security through Obscurity.
If you're not running all your stuff through a major well-known host like Google or Amazon you're less likely to be a target than if you're just self-hosting.
Supposedly Google and Amazon have "good" security, but they still get hacked.
Eventually the companies will not function without their employees.
Then comes the inevitable bailouts to big corporations. But the cycle will continue until
the system changes or it collapses.
I agree, but when most of my "elders" growing up believed computers to be this magical voodoo money printer box that just happens to go on facebook, It's not suprising they believed any job relating to a computer was safe and stable.
