  • I hate that joke with a passion because one of the members of our D&D group said it constantly in game and it never worked with the scenes. One of the many reasons the group "disbanded" but still met without him.

  • If I intended to insult you, I would have. But when you make an outrageous claim without evidence, it can be dismissed without evidence, and I'm not in any shape to explain why your assertion that an app gets full access to your system on install is laughable. I'm also not in any shape to deal with thin skinned posters who see insults in everything, so good day.

  • I used sync for reddit for years, but I kinda hope sync dies. But I also have an axe to grind with the dev after they invalidated the app purchases and made people buy it again to not have ads. Plus their inability to update on a regular basis is kinda terrible, and has continued. One of the top posts on the sync community when I checked was to not report PMs because it will actually report a random comment with the same ID, which is just a massive fuck up given the amount of spam PMs.

  • I don't understand why people seem to think insurance is some kind of "get out of a bad situation free" product. Sure, Elmo might get the wholesale price back, but he's still going to lose out on the earnings from the car, cuz they probably won't give full sale price, and definitely won't give him compensation for lost fees and financing or interest that comes along with a real purchase.

And in top of that, the more of these attacks that happen, the more insurance companies are going to see Tesla as uninsurable due to the amount of risk insuring them will bring with the hate he's generating, and will make dealerships and lots have to spend more on security and risk losing out on space due to these attacks on top of increasing premium costs.

I'm not advocating that people burn down Tesla's and Tesla dealerships, but one of the best ways to hurt a company long term is to fuck with their insurance. It's seen as a mandatory product for most businesses, and you can break a budget if premiums suddenly increase.

  • I was so mad that I only had 1 week of PTO to take care of my wife and son after the rough birth. Thankfully some friends pulled us into their place to help take care of my wife while I had to work, otherwise she would have had to get grippy socks....

    I fucking hate this country.

  • And depending on your audience or how often you (don't) go back and review it, it can help to comment the things that are self explanatory.

I write a lot of scripts for my team and have to make them "maintainable" by the people in my department (who are as familiar with the concept, as your buddy that calls the gym the James), so I will regularly over comment so that any ape can come along and hopefully know what the script does.

  • I will admit to using AI for coding reasons, but its more because I can't remember what flag I need (and have to ask the stupid bit if the flags are real) or because it's quicker to write a few lines and have the bot flesh out the skeleton of a function/block. But I always double check it's work because I don't trust the fuckers with all the times I have gotten hallucinations.
