  • Can't say I'm surprised. After becoming a Russian vassal, the US swearing fealty to a king is pretty much just going full circle.

On second though...a king has no suzerain. Shouldn't he be like a duke or something?

  • THERE ARE TWO CANDIDATES

    That's not how democracy works...

Being restricted to two candidates is just like a one-party state with an extra choice for shits and giggles.

People vote with their conscience on whatever candidate they feel represents them. And it's THEIR business.

Anything else is NOT democracy. Nobody is entitled to your vote. That's the one power you have.

  • Not only do I don't mind multiple instances, I welcome it. It's a feature for me, not a bug. But having to create multiple accounts is a no-no and what keeps people away. People say you only need one but that's not true if you want to be active in multiple instances.

If the fediverse had a way to unify account creation, that would be a game changer. It's pretty much what's holding the fediverse down, be it Lemmy, Pixelfed, PeerTube, etc. It's frustrating because without that limitation I could see the corpos being given a run for their money.

  • Barely. The loss in 2016 and the tight race in 2020 wasn't enough to sound the alarms. They still tried to win with Harris because she wasn't Trump, instead of finding a worthy candidate.

Sorry, man. I despised Harris but still preferred her to win, hands down. But Democrats have only themselves to blame. Trying to blame the voters who refused to vote in Harris just because she wasn't Trump in dishonest and anti-democratic. It's the exact posture that will keep enabling Democrats to come forward with these crappy candidates and (unsuccessfully) blackmailing the progressist voters to vote for them.

Thus, the exact posture that allows Trump to win.

Third party voters didn't cost Harris the election. But if it did, you'd better your ass the Democrats would take the next election seriously. And they would win.

  • I feel your frustration but this isn't a petty dictator with his boot on his people's neck. He was elected. The US, as a nation, chose this. You are choosing your new allies and your new enemies and being quite clear about it.
