  • I don't think we'll see the army blooding their hands in the West Bank. We're going to see major atrocities there (executions, mass graves, etc) but it will be by the armed militia (aka settlers). The army will just observe to keep plausible deniability.

  • Israel doesn't give a shit about Gaza. Gaza is a distraction. The real deal is the West Bank were the settlers/militia are being armed by Israel. There are already videos of Ben Gvir giving assault weapons to the settlers and riling them up. They are the ones who will commit the genocide in Israel's behalf. Shit is already going down. The militia is depopulating villages, commuting murder and arson, all while the IDF just stands and watches. But the media only shows Gaza. Even Biden already realized what happened and is shitting his britches realizing he supported what is about to happen. This are the first stages of a genocide.

  • They aren't the same, but there's is not enough variation. Other democratic countries have multiple choices. My own country has 7 parties in its legislature. There are 2 major parties, but the smallers ones end up having a lot of weight also. European democracies often have executives formed by coalitions of multiple parties, often headed by one the major ones.

American politics makes it so there's a huge risk in helping the adversary if you pick one the third parties. If you are closer to Democrats but align more with a third party and vote for them and that causes neither of the candidates to gain a majority, there are no possibilities for a third party to support a Democrat government. The Supreme Court gets to pick the government, regardless of the opinion of the majority. That is ridiculous but unfortunately it is by design to keep it all under two establishment parties. It pressures the voters to vote only for the two "approved". I prefer Democrats by far, but this isn't a fair democracy.

In normal democracies no government can be formed without the support of the majority of the legislature. Even Presidential elections between 2 candidates have to go through a first round first, with the 2 most voted candidates progressing to the final round.

In the US it is all made to stop any third party from growing and keep it all between the usual suspects. And the results are in sight, a radical Republican party whose place is almost impossible to be taken by a moderate conservative party. Or a stagnant Democratic party unable to be succeeded by something more progressive.

  • The flashback where he's eating dinner with his family and talks about his cool black teacher and his father goes on a racist tirade. It shoes the seeds of racism were put in him since he was a kid. The whole point of the scene is to show he didn't just wake up hating blacks one day. It was a process that started home.

Anyway, I respect your opinion even if I don't agree with it.

  • without addressing the fact that being extremified by that would necessitate pre-existing white supremacist beliefs on the part of the main character

But they do explore that. They clearly show that he was already developing racist ideals influenced by his father even before the murder. The father's death was just the tipping point.

  • And regarding the i30 and the Kona, you have no clue what you're talking about. I actually took my time to pick that car. They both use the same platform, yes, but that's it (obviously, they share some of the same equipment) . The Kona was supposed to be a crossover version of the i20 but they used the bigger platform to accommodate the electric version. That was way before they came up with the Bayon.

I never considered the i30 because it was out of my price range. Yeah, price is a factor buddy. Yes, the Kona was considerably cheaper than the i30. I was actually debating between the Kona and the Citroën C3. They had similar prices. But I wanted a larger car so the Kona was a no brainer. I basically got something like an i30 for the price of an i20 and boy am I happy.

So, with the dilemma of having the car I needed or your approval, well...how hard could it be. So, get a life.

    1. That's pretty much all you did.
    2. It's not the same but, even if it was, why can't I prefer a taller car? You are judging according to your preferences. If I had chosen a sedan you wouldn't care. By the way, what do YOU drive. I bet it has a bigger engine than mine, yet here you are.
    3. I answered a comment, not the article. I'm actually inclined to agree with the article. You're the one that felt the need to pick up a fight from your own high horse. Just because I reminded someone not all SUV's are huge trucks with huge engines. How dare I prefer something your excellency finds not due if thy approval.
  • Maybe I wanted to buy a slightly higher car and find the Kona more appealing than the i30. Who are you to police my taste? It's still a car that's not the gas guzzler you try to portray. You could also say the i30 is just a slightly bigger version than the i20 and now emmits more CO2. Where do you cross the line?

In my country I actually pay taxes according to engine size and emissions and guess what, I pay very little because it's still on the lower end of the pollution scale. It's a 3 cylinder for Christ's sake! I don't see you complain to sedan, offroad or sports car owners, and they pollute (and pay) way more than a small crossover. Or people that use their car everyday. I ride a small 125cc motorcycle everytime it is not raining. I bet I pollute a lot less than you do.

I dislike big SUV's as much as you, but I find odd people trying to put them all in the same boat ignoring their body and engine size. People like what they like and have no need to justify themselves. If you're worried about pollution talk numbers because that's what really matters.

  • It reminds me when my mother threw a set of iron keys at my face and I quickly shut the door between us so they hit and ruined the door (instead of my face) and I was scolded for ruining the door.

Normal people just say "why the hell did she toss the keys at you??"
