  • under normal circumstances? why would they. but if threads keep rigging the fediverse integration part people might think it's better to be on threads since the integration is bad even if threads clearly do it to rig the competition.

  • idt they are similar. idt mods should be paid. bringing monetary benefits might be nice but i think it will turn moderating as a means of income. people moderate subreddits out of their passion or that subreddit theme might be their hobby and making it monetary will be a disaster.

  • movies/series that are available in amazon prime. since i use my friend's amazon prime, i just use it to watch stuff quickly instead of going to private trackers. only exception might be "The Boys" since there is a huge number of scenes that got censored.

  • But I see no evidence that an organized effort took place.

Reddit blackout protest clearly made us understand that if we do any sort of resistance against them they don't think twice replacing the current mods with new ones even if that can affect the subreddit. At this point, they see Reddit as a cash cow and not a people's forum. If they didn't, we wouldn't be speaking here in lemmy.

  • and threads users can't see the mastodon users comments for now. i think they will prolong this as long as they can while introducing other stuff so that they can force other people to download threads for making comments that they can see.

  • While I am excited at this integration I hope the people at threads would shift to mastodon instead of the opposite if threads ever try to do an EEE move.

  • it's just banners dude, you won't even see them unless you navigate to community.

  • while i think it's not bad having this warning i can say sync's a good app you can trust. maybe the only closed source lemmy app you can trust. the last time i paid for a closed source app, it went eol way before i thought. hope lj doesn't do that 🙂.

  • but using the same for outdoors and indoors is not hygienic

  • we usually go barefoot in our houses unless you have a separate slipper for home. but he doesn't have a separate one and uses the same one for outdoors and indoors which is kinda annoying. I can't complain since he's a bit (5 years) older than me.

  • and break compatibility so that neither of the users won't be able to share posts properly. yes i am aware of their shenanigans. i am gonna use mastodon even if they make it a sinking ship. plus i hope people realise it doesn't have porn/spam bots like threads do.

the very fact that they don't allow instagram users to view threads post without making them open a threads account tells me how much they are gonna try to push threads by any means, even if it affects other platforms like mastodon.

  • my roommate using slippers inside our house. idk if this is a rich kids thing.

  • if it only has a good android client smh

  • yeah if threads integration means that i could interact with my friends threads posts with mastodon account i don't mind it. it's not like they are gonna use mastodon. maybe there might be a chance that people on threads might visit mastodon once they are fed up with spams on threads.

  • we don't. i know the anime community on the internet doesn't have a good reputation but it's different here. @hitagi@ani.social makes sure of that.

  • lemmy ml de-federates with communites and instances without even a reason, not to say that their moderations actions weren't questionable in the past and present.

  • idt they need to, unless they get a letter. the chances are astronomically low for that.

  • removing pictures really seems like a bit of a nightmare after reading that.
