tbh i think other government bodies should follow UN too, as far as i know they have been the only governing body that voices concern whenever tech companies become too greedy.
there was a time when twitter was the place for internet sensation. if you want to see what's going around the world, twitter was a great place to visit. movements like #metoo wouldn't have happened if there was no twitter. sad to see that musk just plays with it like a toy and making it's credibility to lose everyday and giving it a slow death.
For variety of reasons. First, if an uploader sends a file that is malicious, it can't be taken down since it is not moderated. Second, I could create a torrent for "Oppenheimer" and name the file as the same with proper meta data but upload a fake one. It can't be removed since there is no moderated. Also, the chances of people uploading "bad" content are high too, though I don't know whether people do that though.
that's what the problem is. youtube has a wide range of users who got cozy to the platform where many of them doesn't even care about using adblockers. also, content creators got used to it. so making them shift their platform to something new is harder than making them shift from reddit to lemmy or twitter to mastadon.
yeah they are great but i always tend to carry a government id in the wallet since i kinda don't trust my smartphone's battery life. that goes same for a upi, i use it everyday but i always have a debit card incase if the bank server doesn't work or battery dies out
sometimes you can find answer to things that aren't even answered in stack overflow but answered in reddit. that was one of the things which made me use reddit at one point. hope lemmy create that kinda community here too.
if chrome fully adapts this, this might well be a full blown commerical by chrome for people to switch to firefox. i have been only using chrome only to run our projects locally and test it out.
Can you recommend me one that can be used to download DRM protected content from OTT platforms such as Netflix, Amazon Prime and Mubi? Might well as archive the content I watch.
I have already migrated to proton mail and it's great. The only thing I still use gmail for is to attend google meets and use google drives.
