also I think having tags for users would be a good idea, for example in niche communities that revolve around science or medicine, having a tag like "verified doctor" or "verified scientist" put a lot of weight for them while having conversations.

any group chat is better than a dead group chat. we had signal group chats when whatsapp tried to share user data to facebook and would delete user accounts if they don't comply within the given date. Once WhatsApp took back their decision,, the signal hype train eventually faded and the group chats became dead.
