exactly, they don't even have a definitive roadmap yet. most of the instances would block threads anyway if they ever make a decision that could EEE fediverse. blocking instances that federate with threads is kind of a bad move.
yeah, they are trying to sue tachi since most of plugins were tachi's own plugins. idk what the copyrights holders are going to do now since the unofficial plugins are out.
While Lemmy is gradually growing and the whole federation is a pretty good concept too I have one question about lemmy and it's future.
Since it's just two devs maintaining the whole project (I know there are many open source contributors but the project is on them right?) what if they get tired of the project or go MIA? Can a fork be made and that can be maintained as a replacement of lemmy?
How are and will be the SEO of the lemmy's instances? Reddit reached a wide audience due to that. It's nice to have a niche set of audience at the start but that should not be the case forever right?
for them, all the "what is what" questions that could be asked in any programming language is covered in stack overflow before 2013 and "beginners/easy to fix" questions have been convered before 2018.
The IT scene has changed a lot since their time unfortunately. Many of us have to pick up new stuff quickly for our jobs in a very low time often. While going through proper materials is a way, one may or may not have time for full "trial and error" method.
i don't support this statement but if there is a safe space on some part of fediverse that is dedicated for people who suffer from insecurities or other problems, why can't it be indexed so that more people can find a safe space for them too?
most of the fediverse platforms have good moderation tools that can even ban a whole instance, so why are we still trying to gatekeep the safe spaces?
in no way if the dev can still work on aniyomi
