  • Am I the only one who has to do like 12 of these in a row before my humanity is recognized? Beyond mildly inconvenient, it's downright annoying now.

Edit: I use Mullvad + Firefox + Betterfox + uBO. I don't think my setup is that sophisticated lmao

  • Look, all I want is for my shit to work and work every time. I drive a car from the 90s. I go out of my way to buy handheld electronics that take standard cell batteries. I'm writing this while shitting in a toilet made in 1972. I don't mind things being a little out of date as long as they just work.

    Anyway, guess my distro.

  • You're either the kind of person who reads their emails in real time and freaks if that little blue number ever reads "2" or you're the kind of person who selects their entire inbox and marks it as read twice a decade.

My wife is the former. I am the latter. I get too much junk. I go through my inbox a few times a day, read what looks important, and ignore the rest. I have 2,174 unread emails in my inbox and a folder called "auto junk" with 5,116 in it.

  • Sure, but do those other droids tend to accompany each other everywhere in the galaxy?

  • My wife has already put up our Halloween/Thanksgiving/Christmas/New Year's/Valentine's Day/Easter tree.

  • It doesn't, though? I've sent cash through the washer plenty of times. How else am I supposed to launder my money?

(Also, I thought it was pretty clear my original comment was a joke, but whatever dude lol)

  • My great-grandmother just died this year at 100 years old. She was still driving after 90, and she was perfectly competent at it in the farm town where I grew up. Her daughter, on the other hand, is a horrible driver. I mean, shaky on the wheel, stabby on the pedals, and just looking everywhere but forward. I'd be amazed she hasn't been involved in some horrible wreck except for the fact that she rarely leaves the house. Being 80 will do that to you, I suppose.

  • I cohabitated with my girlfriend for 5 years. We're happily married now. One of the first things she did was make a cross stitch that says "No longer living in sin" with our anniversary on it.

    It's beautiful.

  • Words like comeuppance and conniption? Bunghole? Squeegee? Hoedown? Poppycock?

English has words I'm sure English speakers find funny/ridiculous.

  • Living in tornado alley, having a TV antenna and a weather radio is almost a requirement. If the Internet gets knocked out, OTA still works. Also, my Internet is shit so I wouldn't rely on it if a tornado is bearing down on my location, but I do also love watching 9Β½ hours of nonstop tornado coverage when nasty storms might come my way.

Outside of that, I know to tune in at about :15 past the hour during newscasts to catch the weather report, which gets uploaded to their website later anyway. If the football game is on, I might catch that if I care to watch. I don't really watch OTA otherwise.

    But I'm 32 lol

  • German: "There are like...a lot of different ways to say 'the' based on case and gender and you'd better believe most answers you might come up with as a non-native speaker are wrong."

    English: "THE is THE!"

Seriously, English has its flaws, but the simplification of article adjectives is one area where it shines.

  • I used to cringe every time I saw an itasha car. But hey, not my car. If it makes them happy and it's not disproportionately negatively affecting others' safety, then it's actually kinda sick.

I couldn't do it myself. I also haven't been into anime for several years, but I do love me a JDM neoclassic.

  • I own a '97 Honda. The last owner had LEDs in it. The lenses weren't designed for LEDs, they were designed for halogens. So one of the first things I did was revert the headlights to halogen bulbs. And they work perfectly fine. I drive in a suburb so the streets are already fairly well lit. I don't need to cast a beam 5 miles out to see where I'm going.

Also, it's that soft yellowish white light. Not that harsh daylight bluish light everyone and their mom is obsessed with. I don't get it. Anyway, the best thing you can do in 99 times of 100 is to consider what equipment you have and stick to OEM spec.

  • My monitors are over a decade old and are still perfectly fine. I'll upgrade to 1440p/144 Hz when I start seeing dead pixels or some other failure.

They have DVI ports and all my stuff is too new for DVI so I'm on the adapter diet lol

  • When I was in the sixth grade, I went to a school that required you to have a badge. I had bad untreated ADHD (pretty sure I still do, just saw a psychologist about it about a week ago) and so it was normal for me to lose or forget my badge. If you didn't have your badge, you had to get a temporary from the front office, and if you showed up to lunch with one, you got one cold uncrustable for lunch. That's it. Everyone else was served a full hot lunch.

So I have bad memories of being lunch shamed centered around these things. Besides, I love my extra crunchy Jif.

  • Drawings of Dogs

The artist has taken some liberties as to what constitutes a drawing of a dog.
