Jurisdiction shopping is a real problem. Conservatives know they can file any case in one of these small districts with a Trump wacko as the sole judge, and enforce whatever legal hackery they want.
I don’t think he’s being naive, he knows Trump is going to hang him out to dry, and he can’t win without ongoing US support. So if he’s come to the conclusion that defeat is inevitable, or at least that victory is impossible, then it makes sense to start posturing to that effect, to try to get the best outcome possible later at the negotiating table.
Is there any partial immunity conferred by this? I wasn’t sure if monkeypox is a virus related enough for the vaccine to have that effect. The smallpox vaccine does nothing against chicken pox, for example
Not really surprising when all food is so processed and pumped full of all kinds of bullshit, from high fructose corn syrup to preservatives to you name it.
Fun anecdote - I moved to Europe from the states a year back, and lost almost 20 pounds in that time without explicitly doing anything different. Just from the better food quality, and walking more in daily life (walkable cities and good public transportation!)
This is a shit ruling that punishes American citizens as much as immigrants, by preventing them from legalizing their wives and husbands. What are you supposed to do if you fall in love with someone who happens to be undocumented? Fuck you, I guess?
Thank god he's old, then, because he's not going to last long enough to be long time dictator. But maybe thats not the point, even if trump is gone, if hardcore republicans dismantle elections to ensure they're perpetually in power, then who the current figurehead is will be the least of our problems
I’ve been wondering the same thing. Many countries around the world that are seemingly more religious have far less restrictions. Texas’ restrictions are absolutely draconian by comparison.
Looking at the two countries I live in, for example:
Portugal is a very catholic and traditional country. And yet abortion is legal for any or no reason up to 10 weeks, plus up to 24 weeks if the mother’s health is impaired (need not be life threatening).
Argentina’s population is like 75% Roman Catholic, many of them rather devout, and yet they allow abortion up to 14 weeks without any restrictions.
In both countries, these laws enjoy widespread support and are not considered controversial; the local conservative parties have zero interest in touching it.
Chemtrails!!! They’re turning the freakin’ frogs gay!!!!111
