  • Japanese employers are currently under a major "crisis", that crisis being that Gen Z employees won't work 20-40 extra hours in a week unpaid, won't participate in corporate family culture "bonding with your boss" bullshit, wont take 「no, I refuse your notice of quitting」 as an answer, actually report workplace (sexual) harassment, among other things. Except unlike in America, the employers in Japan are actually having to adapt to employees respecting themselves because their population is on the brink of collapse from not having enough young people lol, they don't just have other people they can hire. Obviously because of the unbearable work "culture" which doesn't allow you to have a family life, combined with the rampant sexism against women throughout Japanese society and culture keeping them from interacting with men.

  • I frequently state the fact that Israel is a genocidal apartheid ethnostate that has "Jewish supremacy" as the basis of its existence and should be abolished, and I haven't been banned anywhere on lemmy.world for it

  • like adderall

Finally, something good comes out of my ADHD. I'm invincible against THCA drug tests!

    (I'm kidding)

  • Don't worry, when we eventually get basic human needs down such as universal healthcare and other social welfare, worker's rights, and liveable non-car dependent infrastructure, I'm sure everyone will start moving to the US instead of Canada and you'll be saved. I give it... a few decades, when the climate catastrophe starts becoming apparent.

  • I am a Scala and Rust fan. I can corroborate what you said

The part about no semicolons/curly braces I like in Scala is that I can write a function and it'll look virtually indistinguishable from a regular ol variable. Functions become much less of a ritual and integrate more nicely with the rest of the code. Other than that though, Rust definitely wins out because of the curly braces & semicolons. I use curly braces in most situations in Scala where I'd normally use them in Rust, and I would use semicolons everywhere in Scala if it weren't considered unidiomatic. Whitespace-significant syntax is just really annoying to deal with. Using Python or even maybe F# makes me want to die because I keep accidentally missing an indent somewhere or indenting too much somewhere else or using the wrong kind of whitespace and the entire program implodes. At least Scala and Kotlin keep it sane

Also it's just way harder to visually organize in whitespace based languages. You basically have to do a bunch of magic tricks to make the code look slightly different in a specific scenario than what the language wants you to. Rust allows you to actually visually organize your code easily while also having a strong style rules which you shouldn't stray too far from (or else the compiler will yell at you).

  • No. He is completely wrong. Drag isn't "reducing a woman's identity" to anything, because femininity isn't a woman's identity. People who do drag aren't pretending to be women. Drag partially exists to blur gender lines and challenge our perceptions of gender, and mostly exists because many people feel affirmed by femininity and are most comfortable when they're participating in what we see as feminine culture.

Cultural perceptions of femininity aren't equivalent to womanhood. Femininity does not "belong" to women and masculinity does not "belong" to men. Imagine how insane it would be if we called women wearing pants and other clothes that used to be associated with men "blackface for men" lol.

  • Are you seriously comparing clothing and makeup to skin color and ethnicity my guy?

Blackface demonizes/makes fun of being black. Drag does not demonize femininity; quite the opposite actually. Your logic doesn't logic.

Considering you post a lot of porn of women with objectifying remarks all over your profile, it's unsurprising you have misogynistic views... at least keep them to yourself man.

  • Don't talk to me and my Directed Hypergraph Databases again

  • It's really not the same attitude. JD Vance is a terrible pick, literally anyone else who would replace him would do better

  • I mean you can just say a stranger you can't identify raped you man. There doesn't have to be an actual person to blame lol

  • The Republicans are getting cannibalized by their own voterbase. They've pushed their voters too far to the right, and now it's coming back to bite them in the ass. Whatever plausibly "moderate" views red politicians have now are going to be gone in a few years, if the Democrats winning the upcoming elections doesn't save them lol

  • rule

  • This is not what the French intended for us to do with their language

  • I live in Georgia, can confirm. Don't go anywhere near the rural parts of this hellhole, especially if you're black or have some sort of other trait which southerners & conservatives discriminate against. Don't even think about taking weed with you in a car outside of Atlanta or Savannah. If you get arrested here, you're not going to be able to leave any time soon. And there's no laws which require compensating the wrongfully incarcerated or convicted.

If Georgia were a county, it would have the 4th highest incarceration rate in the world. Higher than El Salvador and Rwanda. The only ones that beat it are other US states (Louisiana, Mississippi, and Oklahoma).

I would also avoid Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and West Virginia. Not only because you might be wrongfully thrown in jail or prison, or get shot or something, but because those are just terrible places to exist in to begin with. At least Georgia has a decent amount of blue in it. Although our whitest counties bestowed upon the world Marjorie Taylor Greene and the guy who voted against making lynching a federal hate crime, so maybe it balances out. (this guy's political career has been CARTOONISHLY evil by the way, it's wild reading the Wikipedia article about him, I mean every red politician from Georgia is but it's still shocking actually reading what these people do)

  • I somehow don't think we will, considering the original commenter is seemingly pretending that they didn't see the comment. I wanted to give the benefit of the doubt, but it's hard to believe that they're actually telling the truth about any part of what they said considering they apparently think Trump is the best candidate we have. American centrist and right wing policies are pretty anti-poor.

He uses "left" to refer to Democrats in his comments so I just assumed he meant it here too.

My only guess is that they mean "a for-profit church" when they say "a nonprofit that feeds the poor and temporarily under resourced". But I dunno, maybe they're telling the truth.

  • 4 out of 330 is quite a lot. Are they tech youtubers or something?

  • Probably the redness from being white as fuck and old, maybe some yellow skin from being old too, and the warm color of the artificial lighting in the Oval Office (2700K to 3000K)

  • What specific problems does the government cause for this non-profit, exactly? What "authoritarian" policies is this "left" you speak of enacting which harms the needy?

  • non-furries don't even approach normal, they've utterly rejected the concept of normalcy. especially the straight christian ones... blegh... i trust nobody on lemmy is like that, else we might have to nuke the place and start over
