  • I kind of disagree. What are Drake and Lamar gonna do, go after one of the biggest names in rap? That really went well for MGK 😂

That said, he'd totally be debasing himself for the equivalent of a petty squabble so I also agree lol

  • In my experience, your first sentence sums it up nicely.

They assume a moral high ground because they've adopted a diet that is generally deemed healthier and better for the environment (I don't always agree with this).

But unless they're also doing all the things we could all do better (e.g. not buying new, not upgrading the the latest and greatest, not taking 40 minute showers, not eating out every second day), they're only somewhat less guilty of environmental damage than the average person, but they're taking a generally undeserved "holier than thou" position and then shoving it down your throat. This isn't everyone, and I don't really care what you eat, but these are the vegans that get under my skin.

  • Okay curious question. There's a legal movement arguing that nature should be protected by law/be considered when undertaking things that might affect it (esp. resource development).

Does anybody with any legal knowledge know if this would create some kind of legal precedent? Obviously it's not enshrined in written law, but a tree that owns itself (even by mutual agreement) seems to suggest it's somewhat plausible, and it's not like laws always make sense lol. Or am I just reading too much into this?

  • This is the best advice I've adopted recently for exactly the same perception. Focus on your life, maybe do your best to have a positive impact on the things that worry you. Decrease your engagement with the news cycle - know what's going on, but only as much as you can handle without it affecting your mental health.

Learn to trust that things will be ok, even if you're not entirely convinced they will. It may not solve the problems, but your sanity matters too

  • I am utterly shellshocked by how much I'm enjoying Helldivers 2. It's been a very long time since I've daydreamed about going home to play but I just can't wait to blast some bugs with friends most days. It's like I'm 10 again
