It's an unrelated messenging platform. Not unlike a federated discord but best used for chat right now. VoiP is still an early feature if I understand correctly. Right now matrix is the best alternative to DMs if you'd like to keep your conversations private.
Looks like there is !dnd_lfg@lemmy.world but I feel like there's not enough traction over there yet to be super useful. Maybe a matrix chat would be a good thing to put together?
Note that what they're really interested in here is a fundamental change in how extras work. They want to turn it from an industry that hires early/struggling actors and turns it into the sort of thing that a college student can get one-time emergency money from. Akin to selling blood or eggs.
Found out today PeerTube channels can be understood as a Lemmy community. Try this !veronicaexplains_channel@tilvids.com. Comments are even available from the PeerTube side.
Can't believe I haven't seen this said here but check against other instances. Some instances have stuff in the trending tab set to manual approval. I've noticed this in particular with my trending tab posts section on tech.lgbt
This should be long fixed. I think people who have been taking about this recently are in instances that are having trouble helping up with traffic? Definitely not sure
Great doc. Also just saw that Grave Encounters is free on youtube right now for anybody looking for something to watch.
